Rousey OK?

Ronda Rousey was once the most dominant force in women’s MMA—a trailblazer who brought global attention to the UFC and broke barriers in combat sports. But now, at 38 years old, her life has taken a tragic turn far from the spotlight she once commanded.

After suffering back-to-back knockout losses and a tough transition out of the UFC, Rousey faced intense public scrutiny, emotional battles, and the struggle of rebuilding her identity outside the cage. While she found brief success in WWE and other ventures, the pressure, criticism, and mental toll have continued to haunt her.

In this video, we take a closer look at Ronda Rousey’s journey after MMA, the personal battles she’s faced, and why her story is one of both triumph and quiet tragedy.

The video missed out the part where Ronda made up a story about falling down the stairs as the reason why she lost to Holm.

Even though she was punched in the head many many times Holm and Nunes and didn’t go down.

I do think Ronda has medically diagnosed mental health conditions like Autism and maybe even Schizophrenia that haven’t been disclosed to the public. However her mother (IMHO) has to take some blame for turning her daughter into being completely obsessed with winning at all costs like that is all that matters in life.

What is a publicly undiagnosed mental health condition?

lol I admit I chose my words very poorly there but I was trying to state that I think that she has mental health conditions that has been officially diagnosed by Doctors but not disclosed to the public.

Will go back and edit now.

Was she obsessed with winning at all costs? Seems to me like she was obsessed with famous at all costs and staying with Edmund at all costs, which are not really in line with winning at all costs.

Edmund is the GOAT coach. Guy has provided me with more laughs per minute than anyone not named Norm Macdonald.

I was thinking of all the shit her mother said in interviews that she installed in Ronda from a young age.

Basically if you don’t win you are nothing etc etc.

A child’s belief that their self worth is based only on winning doesn’t usually lead to being a balanced mentally healthy adult who can cope with defeats as Ronda seems to show.

Maybe winning at all costs wasn’t the best choice of words to use here I will admit.

No I was kind of straw manning your argument focusing on the wording. I did know what you meant

I actually think the opposite is true. When she was listening to her mom she was trainer smarter and with better coaches. I think if she listened to her mom more closely she wouldn’t have gotten embarrassingly face planted twice in a row and retired in shame.

Hanging out with clowns like Edmund make you delusional. It’s one thing to have someone tell you “the most important thing is to be the best, and if you work really hard you can do that” and another to listen to someone tell you “you’re already the best champ. No one can fuck with you, world champion boxers can’t stand with you.” Because they just might believe you and wander into a striking match with someone 100x better than you at striking

While her mother was correct about Edmund being a shit coach I still think her advice and psychology to a young child like Ronda didn’t do her any favours.

Had she been with say Jackson’s MMA and got KOed clean by Cyborg she would likely have still reacted the same way as she did with Edmund and losing to Holm.

Obviously hindsight is 2020, I’m just saying there’s something to be said about high standards with combat sports.

I know it’s just a sport but it’s a lot more devastating to lose. If you have a kid fighting you might be better off being her mom. Because she might be nuts but she didn’t lie to her. Edmund told her stuff that made her feel happier at the time but I bet she’d trade all of that to have not gotten embarrassed so badly you have to invent stories just to sleep at night.

No she was publicly anti Edmund before the Holm fight. From several fights before that when she stopped training with Gokor and Karo to only train with Edmund she hated him. Because he convinced Ronda he was the only coach she needed which in MMA is clearly not the case. He jacked her from real coaches her mom had introduced her to.

Her life took a “dark and tragic turn”?

She’s 38, a multi-millionaire, married, and just had her 2nd kid. So dark and tragic.

I can’t remember the exact quotes off the top of my head but I feel the stuff she said to Ronda as a child about winning and losing wasn’t accurate when it comes to someone’s self worth and how they are perceived by others.

I know I didn’t think I said otherwise?

No argument there but IMHO even with the right coaches I still don’t think she would have reacted any differently if / when she was eventually defeated.

To be fair she went from being a world champion respected by fans and feared by her peers to a laughing stalk making up lies about how CTE is why she lost fights; fights she clearly lost because she was worse at fighting than her opponent. That’s a hell of a dark turn from my privileged and biased perspective

Tough shit.

She just needs to suck it up and deal with being yesterday’s hero. Instead of coming out with ridiculous lies and excuses, while being completely incapable of accepting criticism.

Yeah - her mom was pretty dead-on with a lot of her unheeded advice imo.

I think she would have had much more long-term success if she listened to mom.

Married To T Browne too

Clearly Ronda should’ve married Brendan Schaub when she had the chance. The internet’s match made in heaven.

Imagine the fun we could have had…

Or maybe, and hear me out here..

She might just be a piece of shit that’s burnt all her bridges and realised life gets lonely one day when you treat everyone like crap.

That vid sucked. No interviews, just the conjecture of a computer voice.

She probably just lives quietly on the ranch she bought with her UFC $.
