Usually don’t really watch pure grappling matches but tuned in for this one back in the day and was not disappointed. Bravo dominated with his style and Royce apparently threatened him backstage afterwards.

I was there and very drunk by the start of this match. I also saw part of the threaten… if I remember correctly it didn’t happen backstage but outside in the common area. My buddy helped Ralek with this event

Eddie’s weird style just took him out of his game. Surpised Royler wasn’t well prepared Eddie’s weird style for the second match. He has the same few weird moves he was always showing on youtube, rubber guard, lockdown to electric chair, twister, etc. Royler just thought he could show up and win.

Out of all the Gracie’s I met, Royce and Ralph were the only ones I disliked. All the others were really cool and welcoming to everyone. Helio treated us like his grandchildren.

Royce was cool the couple times I met him… Renzo was unbelievably cool. I was basically on vacation with Ralek (ginagi) for a week as we have mutual friends and he is quite interesting to say the least. Use to talk with Royler all the time on the beach in SD and is a gem of a human. Rorion is kind of intense as to be expected.

Renzo was the only Gracie I ever really had any respect for… He was the only one to fight under the rules of the organization he was fighting in and not ask for special exceptions. He was also the only one not to make excuses when he lost or say some dumb shit like ‘my opponent used jujitsu to beat me, so really I won’. Renzo was actually really complimentary towards the guys that beat him if I remember correctly.
I’ve heard some cool stories about Royce as a teacher when he was still a Rorian’s school tool, so he’s probably it not all dick…

I agree with this. I thought the first win was a fluke and didn’t think Eddie would win a rematch. Royler should have prepared. 10th planet stuff is very different and you need to train for it

Royce really just made a fool of himself and thought that the rematch meant there was bad blood or someone had told him there was a beef when there actually wasn’t. He approached Bravo backstage and started saying how he hears Eddie had been talking shit about the Gracie family. Eddie was mostly just confused and was saying, ‘what? No I haven’t?’
I think they’ve all long since been cool with each other.

I love Royler but he got beat twice by Eddie. That really opened my eyes, and a lot of other peoples eyes too
