Sean Strickland middleweight GOAT?

It’s kinda hard to argue against it at this point.

He clearly is and most people here have no idea what they’re watching so don’t count on good responses. The average person here is a fat, 55 yo man that got a blue belt 22 years ago and has sparred 2 rounds in his entire life and is a certified expert on mma. The average person was also convinced that adesanya was the goat when Sean beat him and they were convinced that khamzat was the destroyer of worlds until last night. Now a lot of these same experts believe the fight was scripted lol.

This has been the best 12 hours on here in at least 10 years lol

The first person (shape, age, belt, experience) could never be the second person (believed Adesanya was the goat).

I’m not sure I would agree any GOAT status for him. He’s just this rugged unassuming fighter in the cage.

Last night I remember thinking he was fighting like someone had an original Nintendo controller but the B button was broke so just spamming A jabs the entire time.

He fought like himself but rarely allowed himself to follow up those jabs. A few times he would wing a right behind it but a lot of missed opportunity but it’s easier out here than standing there doing it so I get it.

He wouldn’t be bullied or overrun by Cumquat and that’s what got the job done.

I wonder if Strickland thought that committing to heavier punches would have made it even more difficult to stop Khamzat’s elite chain wrestling takedowns.

It’s like you guys didn’t watch the fight. Both were exhausted after the first 2 rounds and really after the first round. They tested each other’s will in the first and Sean won the fight when he stuffed the takedown in round 2 and got on top. After that it was who could survive to the bell. They were both pretty beat up but it was really all about cardio and will.

There’s literally nothing to analyze in this fight. It’s super obvious what happened and no great skill or game plan was shown by either guy.

Lmfao Alex pereira knocked him out in round 1. He got beat twice by DDP

Prime Anderson Silva would do to Strickland what he did to Forrest Griffin

Yes, but Strickland has wins over Izzy and Khamzat when they were champions, and while he lost to Poatan and DDP, Poatan lost to Izzy, whom Strickland beat to end Izzy’s championship run, and DDP got absolutely mauled by Khamzat, whom Strickland just stood up to and beat.

He’s 1-1 with DDP if everyone is being honest, not that it matters with his double champ status and wins over previous goats.

I wanted to reply with a witty gif but these are the search results

Alex was an unknown at the time in MMA, a second fight probably lasts longer, probably even goes differently.

The Dricus fights were very close, I have no opinion on those
