He’s legit. One of the best sons of prominent pros since Floyd.

what about Chavez Junior

Mosley is better than Chavez jr. or Camacho Jr.

He may be legit, but at 35 he’s a little long in the tooth to be a serious contender for world champion… Then again, boxing at all the weights is a lil weak right now, so what do I know.

Damn he got his father’s right, Shane had a nasty and quick right hand. Man he was so close to ending Floyd’s reign that night.

He throws down like Mosley. If he works on his speed he’ll look just like him.

Occured to me just now, did Rashad take his nickname after Suga Mosley?

Weird I don’t think I’ve heard of him before and I thought he looked a little old to be a prospect.

35?

Has he been fighting this whole time?

Mosley Jr. made his pro debut on April 26, 2014, in Port Hueneme, California. He knocked his opponent out after just 34 seconds. Mosley suffered his first defeat in his fourth professional fight against Marchristoper Adkins. He wobbled Adkins the first round but lost a split decision.

Wow, didn’t expect this. Bohachuk ain’t no joke, he gave Vergil all that Vergil could handle.

The reality is that guys like Mosley Sr., grew up in so Cal fighting absolute beasts as an amateur, including Oscar, Stevie Johnston, Vernon Forest etc. The amateur pedigree of guys like Floyd, Vargas (Sr), etc can’t be replicated. This is a huge reason why guys like Shakur Stevenson are so dominant today. The amateur program cannot be replicated for success as a pro. There is no ducking in the amateurs, you get matched according to your skill level and you stay active and get reps. It’s not about being the best athlete, it’s about having the time under tension.

So before fighting Oscar multiple times as a professional he fought him as an amateur too? How did that go down?

Which do you think is the more competitive, the east coast or west coast?

If I recall correctly, they fought 4 times. 2 as pros and 2 as amateurs. Didn’t google and my memory is imperfect though

My favorite Oscar’s version is where he’s all coked up and wants to fight Triple G https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYK0Hpl_db4&pp=ygUab3NjYXIgZGUgbGEgaG95YSBmaWdodCBnZ2c%3D

I’m not nearly as invested in the amateur scene as I used to be, but in the 90s/00s no place had a better scene than So Cal.

What can it be attributed to? Lots of tough Mexicans?

I think the 1984 games in LA had a lot to do with it. That was the best team the US ever produced and it got the Ca boxing scene really excited thereafter.
