I am not saying I lean one way or another. I just heard about this through another comment on Youtube. It’s a long video but the guy seems knowledgeable. I am only 10 minutes in.
Can they even really be “loaded” effectively? I understand in a boxing glove you can fit a good amount of plaster of paris in there and its covered up by the big boxing glove that covers the whole hand, fingers included. An MMA glove, not so much…
Also, MMA gloves are not like boxing gloves where they need to be all wrapped up ahead of time are they? Could the commission not just give the fight gloves to the fighters right before they get into the ring, so the fighters never had them in their own possession alone?
They should and you give good comments. Watch the video. I am halfway through and he raises good questions. The gloves were not controlled like they normally are and the commission was not the normal commission for the white house event. Some questions definitely.
Shit’s an hour and a half long. GTFO.
Yeah it might just be a great video with a lot of info. I mean it’s an hour and a half so hopefully people will even watch it all. I have not so for now will just comment, some of the flat earthers also put out hour long but entertaining videos… even with “pictures” and “videos” to support their claim. That doesn’t make them legit.
Maybe I will rethink my position on the fight when I can watch the video but currently I’m not buying that shit and have even called others saying it dumb as hell. I will gladly take my ass ramming if there is anything legit here. I kind if doubt it though. This is classic CT style of video. Too long for most people to watch and they know this so just need a couple talking points and pics and ramble on for an hour or 2. Then you wind up with randos who skimmed through in 3 minutes and will go out into the world talking like they know it all and have been studying it for years.
He breaks down some very clear questions that people have. Justin damaged ilia with jabs and 2s. He does a good job even early on in the video.
He labels sections if you want to skip things.
and I say all this as someone who was pulling for Justin to win it and not liking Ilia. But I still have questions because of the pictures he shares and the wrap parts showing in the palms during the fight.
I am not claiming knowledge of hand wrapping or that I know it’s true. Just that I think there are some things I would like more knowledgeable people to weigh in on. This guy comes off as level headed, not a CT guy.
Not imo. If seems like a waste of time and not really effective for mma. I could be way off but every fighter and former fighter I have brought this up to says it would be insane for mma and and they saw nothing unlike any of Justin’s other fights. He fucks up everyone’s face and he was prob 30 + lbs heavier than Iilia. And Iilia just continued to walk strait into that same jab he’s fucked up many a face with.
Illia’s gameplan that fight was to walk Justin down and from the moment the fight started he walked straight into jab after jab after jab after jab against someone who’s known to be one of the hardest punching fighters that his opponents have ever fought. This is absolutely a CT.
Everything has to be a CT now
Iilia is a human being of flesh and blood, Justin is a very hard hitter who’s busted a lot of people up in his career
The gloves have very little padding. The pre fight check right before he walked into the ring would have exposed loaded gloves.
Ilia’s just a pussy who has never been hit like that. Everyone Justin fights remarks on how hard he hits.
Please take the time to watch the video. This is not coming from Ilia or his camp. This is completely separate analysis.
I am not asking you to agree with the guy who did the video. I’m just asking you to set aside Ilia’s complaints and behavior. Even the beating and the strategy….. and just listen to the guy who shared a reasonable take on….
An unheard of fight commission for the white house event.
Odd pictures of justin’s gloves and his behavior as he came out with adjust his gloves.
The damage he had early in the fight. Normally Justin comes back in the later rounds to accumulate damage from his power.
The glove inspection was pretty quick coming into the cage. It’s very possible that it was missed. But the pictures he shares during the fight are interesting.
I am not saying I agree with the theory. Just that it raises questions.
NONE of this is from Ilia’s camp. It’s an MMA fight analysis guy who is licensed to corner in Massachusetts…..
For those of you that don’t want to watch the video, here’s a summary.
You can skip around in the video. He has time stamps if you want to check his point.
- The video’s core allegation is that something may have been abnormal inside Gaethje’s gloves, particularly around the palm/hand-wrap area. Dorman repeatedly points to photos and video frames that he says show an unusual hardened-looking “egg” or mass developing in the glove during the fight. This is presented as his hypothesis, not an established finding by a commission or the UFC.
- He questions the regulatory oversight at the White House event. A significant early portion of the video focuses on which commission oversaw the event and whether the hand-wrapping and glove-inspection procedures were as rigorous as they normally would be. His argument is essentially that unusual circumstances surrounding this one-off event may have created a weakness in normal inspection and chain-of-custody procedures.
- He compares Gaethje’s gloves in this fight with earlier fights, particularly Rafael Fiziev. Dorman highlights what he believes are visual anomalies in Gaethje’s gloves in multiple bouts rather than treating the Topuria fight as an isolated observation.
- A major part of the presentation concerns hand-wrap protocol. He shows what normal MMA wrapping is supposed to look like and contrasts it with photographs of Gaethje’s hand/glove area. He argues that the apparent mass in the palm is difficult to reconcile with ordinary wrapping techniques. He contrasts this with photos of Topuria’s wraps.
- He raises Plaster of Paris/gypsum as a possible explanation. The video discusses gypsum and the chemistry of Plaster of Paris and points to what he describes as yellowish material or powder visible around Gaethje’s feet. His theory is that a substance could potentially react with moisture/sweat and harden during the fight. Again, the video is arguing a theory here; it does not establish through chemical testing that gypsum or plaster was actually present.
- Dorman spends considerable time analyzing Topuria’s facial damage round by round. His contention is that the swelling, orbital/facial trauma and progression of damage were unusual even for a fight involving a powerful striker. He compares the pattern with damage from other fights and historical combat-sports cases.
- He uses the Antonio Margarito–Miguel Cotto controversy as a historical comparison. The point is not that the circumstances are identical, but that combat sports have previously had cases involving illegal hand-wrap materials and that apparent results can remain officially recorded even after serious questions arise about equipment or wraps.
- He argues that “Gaethje is simply an enormous puncher” does not fully explain what he sees. Near the end, he compares Gaethje’s documented punching power and previous performances with the damage inflicted on Topuria. His argument is that Gaethje historically hurts people, but that the type and extent of Topuria’s facial trauma deserve additional scrutiny.
- He also discusses the mechanics of Gaethje’s strikes. The analysis looks at how Gaethje’s punches land and argues that some apparently less-forceful strikes seem to produce disproportionate visible damage. This forms part of his circumstantial case rather than direct proof of glove loading.
- The final portion is essentially a challenge to investigators and skeptics. Dorman says the hypothesis should be falsifiable: examine the gloves, wraps, chain of custody, inspection process and relevant photographs/video. His position is essentially, don’t simply dismiss the allegation—show why the physical observations have an innocent explanation.
This is where his entire argument falls apart. You have the allegations, it’s on you to prove them.
This is retarded and just plain shitty. LOL at watching an hour and half of clickbait garbage like that.
Hahhahahahaahahhaahaha We suck
I have a pair of gloves that if the wrist are taped too tight the palm bubbles, and this is without my hands wrapped. The Whitehouse gloves were special and may not have been perfectly shaped.
Justin fucked that little guy up so quick because he kept jumping into his range. I am sure it helped Justin was punching down most of the fight.
