For me it’s a no brainer. The Godfather is a near perfect film. The only blemish on it is the fakest punch you’ll ever see in a movie
Godfather. Solely because I couldn’t stand Karen
Both are great, but I picked The Godfather.
Goodfellas is great.
But I have to go with the OG.
The score alone is iconic.
@snakepitz ?? he alive and well?
I cant wait until 2030 when america is essentially all hispanic and they start making oscar worthy movies about the nostalgia of the border drug cartels.
They’re both pretty much perfect movies
I voted Fellas, but this is as push as it gets for me.
Goodfellas is in my top five favorite movies. Godfather, as fantastic as it is, is not. Prefer Godfather II over the first one.
Are we talking about pizza chains here?
Been a while since I watched the Godfather.
I watched it so many times back in the day I kind of took a long break.
Rewatched Goodfellas last year sometime.
Gotta say it was more of a downer than it used to be. Still an excellent movie, but something about it didn’t hit me like it used to.
I had a similar experience with Casino recently. Another classic but something about the pace and the narrative annoyed me a little. And the “hard-hitting” scenes just aren’t as impactful as they used to be.
Maybe I just saw them too many times…or my taste is changing.
I still screen the classics for my kids, so I’ll get to enjoy them more vicariously going forward.
I think they’re two different things and they’re both great
It’s like comparing a symphony orchestra to a rock band.
You can appreciate and love the cinematic brilliance of The Godfather and the gritty, exciting, in your face entertainment of Goodfellas
never watched the godfather or eve seen 1 minute of it
This.
I voted goodfellas only because of the rewatchability. I watch it at least once a year.
Godfather is one of the greatest films ever made but i have to leave it a while in between viewings as its more of a heavy going watch
Casino got better for me after multiple viewings. Been a bit since my last watch of it.
Goodfellas, without exaggeration, I’ve probably watched 100 times at this point.
