The Lies of Tim Kennedy

Tim was a civilian at the time pulling a PR stunt. I recall social media comments from active duty troops who were there which were all some version of “fuck my life Tim fucking Kennedy is here.”

Always thought he was a closet fag.

My dad was injured in Vietnam when his transport vehicle hit some kind of explosive device. Everyone but him was killed. He refused the purple heart, so I know that’s possible.

But they point out that Tim constantly takes pictures of himself, so it makes sense if he had ever been injured he’d have photo documentation of it.

No way Tim is refusing anything.

Every media figure that publicly supported Trump is getting hit pieces put out about them.

Coincidence?

Has Tim responded to any of this?

i dont think this meets the definition of stolen valor

Doesn’t the term “stolen valor” refer to people who claim to have served in the military, but never did?

I could be wrong on that.

Yeah it’s stupid to lie about that, who knows why he would do it. But taking the time to actually figure all of that out then making a video about it, I’d say that’s even worse. What a waste of time.

It seemed to kinda morph into guys lying about the details of their service aswell to make them seem more badass.

Forexample someome lying saying they were in the Seals when they never were. They were in the military but never were a Seal. Or someone saying they were in Vietnam but they actually never left the US.

Those are 2 examples I remember of Stolen Valor being called out because people did that.

This is my understanding as well. It can be completely lying about service or just parts of service. It’s more egregious the more it benefits you and diminishes others.

has tim lied about his medals, units, schools or locations? or just exaggerated ?

i havent read where he claimed to have a purple heart.

i got add this because some will take it as i like & support him. i dont like & support him.

lied about being the honor grad in ranger school…possibly lied about being injured in combat…no purple heart on his dd-214

so he exaggerated about a school he did complete.

being injured in combat does not equal an automatic purple heart. i dont think he has claimed to have purple heart.

I believe they’re saying he was never hit by said shrapnel. I’m pretty sure there’s phot evidence and he’s unharmed.

I dont know the details but claiming you are a wounded vet when you are not would be enough to piss me off if I was a vet.

i would never buy and read his book, but just from the details in the OP it says

“Claims he was hit with shrapnel requiring medical attention” and then the detractors say he never received the purple heart.

100% its possible to require medical attention and not receive the purple heart.

could have been a simple fragment, tweezers, bandaid

I think lying and saying you were in the military is seriously reprehensible and should be the only time “stolen valor” is used. But I understand why other things would fall into that category.

I have a couple of military friends, and people lying about their military accomplishments is way more common than people would think. A guy I know got a job with a concrete company and his boss was in the service, was never deployed, but brags about being on the frontlines to him. My buddy said he has encountered probably hundreds of people during his service and after, who do nothing but talk about their accomplishments, and he discovered a lot of them lied about what they did during their service time.

I digress.
