Just some advice for Tiafoe.
Make the strategy to get to the net early and often.
That’s the best way to throw Sinner off his game.

Agreed I think he is going to have to do that if he wants to have a chance at winning today.
Highlights from the only time he has ever beaten Sinner in his career.
The Tiafoe you see @ 7:56 in that video needs to show up for this match.
Sinner is a slightly better player now than he was during that match.
Tiafoe needs to utilize the drop shot a little more often in this match than what we see in the above victory.
That might allow him to keep this match relatively close.
My take is that Sinner does not particularly being drawn into the net a lot.
If you make him come to the net a lot, it’ll get in his head a little and he’ll start to make a few extra errors on the baseline.
Tiafoe has to execute a really good strategy and pick his moments well to keep this close IMO.
lol would love to see him play the hotdog a lot in this match!
Agreed when Alcaraz repeatedly brings Sinner to the net it he definitely doesn’t like it and it does affect his rhythm to a degree for a period.
If Tiafoe can play close to his very best consistently with the right game plan he can potentially win but it will be extremely tough.
Shame we didn’t have a rematch of the Alcaraz Djokovic final from last year. That was a such a great exciting match to watch.
Sinner going for a bagel.
Spoke too soon.
Is he legit top 3 or just having a good run?
Legit.
Sinner takes it.
I haven’t watched much of him except for the last few months
Hes improving every year.
Heading off the clinic to play.
I think I’m going to work really hard for the next month on getting a good volley game down.
It’s no secret I’m a baseline camper.
I like camping out on the baseline and letting my partner take care of the volleys.
So I’m going to work at becoming more well round and developing really good technique at the net like the old school players from the 80’s and 90’s used to do.
Looking at a new racket in the near future.
I haven’t played with a Yonex.
But they’re releasing their VCore in a updated cosmetic in a few days and I’m really digging the look of it.
I like this updated cosmetic. It’s a really cool looking racket.
This is the normal version.
The sand/beige update above look so much better IMO.
The other big new release on the market…
The new Roger Federer racket.
They make three versions.
A “Pro” version. Basically meaning it’s going to be very heavy.
This “01” version. Meaning it’s going to fall into that normal weight similar to most rackets.
And a “Future” version. Looking at the specs, this would be for the person who likes a lighter racket.
Not sure it would fit me but I could see myself getting along with the “01” version.
Federer fans will be buying these up like crazy.
Just to note, I would stay away from the Roger Federer racket.
It’s not going to be very forgiving.
It’ll probably feel really good if you hit it right in the center but I see a lot of player struggling to play well with it.
But because it’s a nice looking racket and has Roger’s name on it, I’m sure it will sell well.
Verdict on the Wilson RF: Don’t buy it unless you try it
I’m just posting it because it’s the new hot thing on the market.
i just tried out the federer at a store, didnt really like it.
Thanks Doug.
Good to hear feedback. I like Federer. It’s a nice looking racket.
But it seems like this racket exists just to have something with Roger’s name on it.
Maybe for collectors?
So I think this is going to be a tough sell for anybody that’s not a huge Roger Federer fan.
Thought Tiafoe played well in the first set but Sinner definitely stepped up his level in the second.
It’s definetly Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic and then the rest of the tour. I think the last person to win a slam outside of those 3 was Nadal in 2022.
Highlights of the Cincinnati final. I’m still triggered that they won’t change the camera angle back to how it used to be!
It’s funny you mention that Dean as I have recently heard something similar from someone else about the RF racket.
He doesn’t recommend it unless you are comfortable at a certain level and have a certain playing style but like you say because it’s got Federer’s name in it then it’s likely going to be very popular!
Sounds like a plan!
It’s obviously great to have that variety in your game and I always found volleying really fun when I used to play.
Trouble was I was horribly inconsistent but I always liked to switch from baseline to serve and volley to mix things up in a match.
I’m sure you are already quite decent at them already even after just a few years.
