The OGs Official Unified Boxing Thread (Part 2)

Separate your tweet posts you lazy shit cunt. Some I want to agree with, some I want to laugh at, and some I want to roll my eyes at. So do better!

Of all these top prospect guys that were supposed to be the new kings of boxing, they all seem like a big letdown.

Teofimo, several L’s, refused to rematch a much smaller Loma that was beating him for half the fight while injured and half his size. Has several more L’s since.

Tank Davis, fights nobodies. Has 2 wins that should be draws. 30 year old prospect.

Devin Haney, pillow puncher that was broken by Garcia.

Another one that fights safe and only has taken safe fights.

They are all a big letdown. Tank is the only one I kind of give a pass to because he, for the most part, has done what he was supposed to do against his mismatched opposition. The other three have all looked far less than impressive in this regard. Tank’s career has been hugely dissapointing though.

Teo’ hurts the most. He was fucking electric during his rise; His timing, power, and reflexes were incredible. After blasting Commey and beating Loma I expected much more from him, but he is a fucking headcase and has rarely shown anything that resembles the ability I thought he had.

A big problem with all of them is that they all thought they were megastars before they had proved anything. Listening to Haney, Garcia, or Lopez talk over the last few years has been painful. There are people locked up in mental institutions who are more grounded than those three.

I feel like nobody is talking about how Lampley took 10 years off , comes back and is instantly better than every other lead commentator out there.

$$$$

Listening to Tarver and Coppinger didn’t help unfortunately

Look at how we treat these guys after they lose or have a draw.

We want them to take risks but every time they fail we call them overrated.

People buried Rolly after his last two losses but he digs deep and gives us the upset of the year.

Boxing fans are partly to blame for the stars being so risk averse. You don’t see the same over reaction to a loss in MMA.

Yep. None have an ounce of humility.

Including Tank and Shakur.

That lasted all of 2 minutes

All the booths are bad at the moment. Lampley and Jones are missed, Kellerman can stay retired though.

The guy I miss the most is Malignaggi, he was very insightful and could articulate this well.

I dont really expect people to take matchmaking risks in boxing. But I do expect them to at least look decent against overmatched opponents.
