This documentary traces the real history of Miyamoto Musashi — from his first kill at 13 against Arima Kihei, through the disputed bloodshed of the Yoshioka School in Kyoto, to the legendary duel against Sasaki Kojiro at Ganryujima in 1612, and finally to the cave at Reigando where he wrote The Book of Five Rings (Go Rin No Sho) and the Dokkodo. Beyond the myth of the undefeated sword saint lies the story of a ronin who became a philosopher.
