Harris wants to forgive medical debt for millions of Americans
The economic plan Harris rolled out last week notes that the Democratic presidential nominee and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, would work with states to relieve people of their medical debt and “to help them avoid accumulating such debt in the future, because no one should go bankrupt just because they had the misfortune of becoming sick or hurt.”
“Medical debt affects an enormous number of people, so it’s an issue that resonates with voters,” said Larry Levitt, executive vice president for health policy at KFF.
brb…dinner time, it’s going to be Chicken/Mushroom/Pepper Stir fry with BlackBean sauce and 3 SpringRolls! perhaps 2oz whisky to enjoy with the Oriental Feast!
…and just last night while strolling around the park to take in the SUPER MOON while listening to the Father Mike Schmitz “Bible in a Year” Program(which is taking me 3 years to get through) I got a Trump Commercial where he was complaining about BILLIONAIRES…well, Kamala is trying to do something about it and give the Middle Class Peasantry some much needed TAX ROI!
It’s not price gouging. It’s simply the cost of what they’re offering. And what they’re offering is ridiculous. When I lived in my state college dorms you could count on seeing vomit in the hallway water fountain at least a few times a semest. The dorms at that same school now are luxury high rises.
Universities have turned into teenage resorts. It’s sad. 1000x being allocated to the experience than the education.
You make some fair points. However, My understanding is that university cost isn’t only the cost of what is being offered. It’s the cost people are willing and able to pay, with loan caps and other financial aid being a driving force in tuition + room and board.
That said, better dorms are a good thing. But administrative bloat, “entertainment, etc. isn’t.
