If I’m Tyson I’m wrestling him to the corner and unleashing hell on the body until he drops his hands. Its his favorite combo from his youth. Pauls midsection has never been hit. And definitely not even by a washed up former legit boxer. Now add in all his roids and weight gain this year. Its what the strategy should be. Cordero is a genius so I’m guessing this is at the very least part of the plan.
If Im Mike, and it’s my last run for glory as a former champion, I’m taking all that life pain, all the death, everything thats been taken from him, and put it all on Paul. Tyson should revert to that kid crying before his matches before Teddy slaps him and says its time. Those pigeons ain’t the half of what that man has been through
He will not lose in the first round. I’ll bet that. He survives and looks decent for a couple minutes. You’re forgetting almost every Paul fight is a work. This might be no different and definitely might be a friendly let’s make this last for the rematch
Missed this little jab, you are incorrect faggot. I grew up watching Tyson and I started boxing in high school. From there moved to Muay Thai & BJJ. But that isn’t the point.
It’s about having some fucking perspective. A guy pushing 60 should be gassed throwing one gloved punch at a heavy bag. The fact that he can still do it, with power, is impressive. It’s not about how he looks compared to younger fighters (and especially not his younger self, who still would probably smoke everyone in the game right now) it’s about what I expected a senior fucking citizen with his accumulated damage (and not just the physical type) to look like, vs what I saw.
I wasn’t a cunt when I pointed out it’s silly that so few in a thread on the fucking OG - a MMA community- didn’t know who Rafael fucking Cordeiro is, but then I can only assume the kind of vitriol you have in this comment is because I verbally butt fucked you in some other thread at some other time and you are still salty about it.
Thanks for your interest but like the vast majority of other folks I have no clue what’s going to happen. Assuming it’s not a work of some sort then anything’s possible considering Tyson’s age. I’d like to think Tyson will demolish Paul inside a round but as good as he looks in training, it could all be smoke & mirrors. His timing might be completely gone, his legs shot & his punch resistance a thing of the distant past. If that’s the case, then Paul will likely stop him. But if Tyson has been able to recapture even 10% of what he once was then he should beat the snot out of Paul.
Mike looked slow and stiff on the pads. Looked like he punched Rafael in the face couple times by accident. I think Rafael kept pausing and slowing things down because the more we see the worse it looks.
Of course Mike can throw a punch and look impressive over little 30 second clips.
He was, once upon a long log time ago, the HW world champion of the world.
I get it man, you’ve trained all martial arts all over the world but take it from us that have actually competed… unless this fight is absolutely rigged Mike Tyson will get brutally KOed or his arse is getting carried to a weird looking Draw decision.
Enjoy the fights, they are free on Netflix in case u didnt know.
The Perry fight was not a work, watch carefully and Mike tried on a few occasions to absolutely decapitate Jake Paul.
During a work the gol is totally NOT to kill the person paying you to take a dive.
p.s. The 1st Woodley fight I believe was a work, Woodley caught Paul hard and then immediately clinched and spend the next 2 rounds holding him up and jabbing the body as to not hurt him again.
I saw a very interesting video describing exactly this feeling and how it has been created by the JP team to have eyes watching and paying him ridiculous amounts of money for people to watch him try to fail.
Oh, you mean Holyfield’s horrid showing against Vitor Belfort. Yeah, that was a quick & inglorious end to his career. Very sad to see.
And yeah, the same thing could happen to Tyson. We have no idea if he’ll be able to hold a shot. Hopefully, he’ll be able to stand up to Paul’s punches but anything could happen.
I happen to think Paul’s power is a bit overrated as he’d never really KO’d anyone but much smaller MMA fighters & a couple of scrub pro boxers. Old man Anderson Silva took him the distance & so did Nate Diaz.
Hopefully, Tyson walks through Paul’s shots & starches him.
