Tito At 50

Purple cape + chops = unbeatable combination

yeah man, he’ll happily try his best to carry out a complicated amateur risk assessment. or he’ll rewire your house. when you’ve stepped in to fight Vladimir Matushenko, challenges like this are easy money baby. surely.

Tito really did abuse the Lions Den. They had an aura before he beat them all up.

He definitely was a better wrestler than Bohlander or Mezger and learned a little submission defense after his debut.

No weight cut.
Old-school UFC open weight fight.

He didn’t beat Frank.

And went 1-1 with Mezger.

Tito’s little Bellator run was a lot of fun.

He was 2-2 vs Mezger, Bohlander, and Frank.

I still think prime Tito beats prime Ken. Tito was the next generation of fighter. If Ken wins he wins fast. The longer the fight goes the worse it is for Ken. Tito might beat on Ken for 10 minutes straight

Guy beat Tito before Tito really knew submissions though and the rematch was a beat down

Ken would be physically too much for Tito IMO. He would overpower him.

If you look at their first fight, Ken went into it with a torn acl and a bad weight cut.
He was a shadow of his former self physically, and had a current injury.
Yet he still managed to escape to his feet what 3 times, and he buckled Tito’s knees with the only punch he landed.
And this was vs the best version of Tito.

What more could Tito possibly do to a peak 225 lb healthy Ken?
Nothing IMO.

Tito is more of a frontrunner.
When he wouldn’t be able to manhandle Ken early it would change the dynamic of the fight. He would have a hard time getting Ken down, and no way to finish him even if he did.
Ken gets top position and beats on Tito for a while, Tito is frustrated, and Ken finishes with a leg submission.

I don’t think it would even be very competitive.

Sure.

But people were making it sound like Tito ran through the entire Lions Den.
In reality he had 2 wins and 3 losses vs them in that era.

And someone said he beat all their best guys, but he didn’t.
He lost to their second best guy.

Ken was not beating prime tito in any form, bad matchup, 1 guy smothers you while dropping hellbows and the other only trying for submission he can’t reach. Ken was way too comfortable off his back and Tito was way too comfortable in someone’s guard.

I like Ken more but Tito owned him.
