The 29-year-old Russian fighter Arman Tsarukyan, competing in the lightweight division in the UFC, compared restaurants in the USA and Russia.
“As a professional athlete, you need to eat a lot of good food because proteins and amino acids alone won’t get you there — they’re just extra protein. But the best thing is to eat quality food, which, unfortunately, is very scarce in America. Russia is much better in this regard.
Even I, when I’m here, eat out at restaurants more often because of the travel. And after eating in our restaurants, I lose weight, even though I eat more. In America, I seem to eat less, but I gain weight. So, the quality of food here is much better than there,” Tsarukyan said in an interview with “Championat” correspondent Sergey Sorokin.
SAD is one of the worst in the world but USA obviously has the highest number of top restaurants in the world as well. There are several countries though where average restaurant is much higher quality than USA. So it depends what are you talking about? The bottom, middle or the top. USA is definitely the best at the top.
He’s not wrong. Russia is fuckin crazy in some places, cows/pigs tied up outside of houses then they butcher the thing and eat it, only eats natural stuff around the tree their tied up to, no shit garbage chemicals and whatever else is in the processing systems in North America. Barely anything is sold in a plastic bag, farm fresh comes in a weird basket with varying fruits and veg, some in great quality, some rotted and old, etc. When was the last time you saw a package of vegetables in Wal-Mart that wasn’t the perfect packaged color? We paint all that shit, preserve it with plastic, so it can sell. Much less of that exists in Russia. Also, very small shops all over with a tiny distribution system, not big-box garbage stores. Even I took my Belgian wife to a Target in Vegas and she was blown away by how plastic everything is.
I’m currently in little Russia in Thailand, and I am not shitting you, 1 in 10 is maybe obese, and that is a hard maybe. Probably not a great indicator as only the rich ones move out here, but I am easily one of the highest BMI people here, and I’m 171, 90kg. Which is pretty fucking average.
