Tyson Fury Officially Announces Plans for 2026 Comeback

Fury has retired from boxing multiple times, first in 2013 when a pair of fights with David Haye fell through, and then most recently following a second straight loss to rival Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. Between those announcements, Fury made three other retirement calls, including in 2017 after he and cousin Hughie became embroiled in a lengthy battle with UK Anti-Doping that coincided with Fury admitted he was dealing with personal issues and substance abuse.

The most likely opponent for Fury is fellow British star Anthony Joshua, who is coming off of a knockout win over Jake Paul. However, Joshua is currently dealing with a personal tragedy as he was recently involved in a car accident in Nigeria that resulted in the death of two of Joshua’s friends and coaching staff, and Joshua being injured.

Fury and Joshua have frequently taken shots at each other in interviews and on social media, but Fury was quick to offer his condolences to Joshua following the accident.

Don’t expect much from him this time around, but let him bang.

He will always be a sad what if story. What if he actually got in shape and didn’t come in as a tub of shit fat ass. Could have been one of the all time greats.

I don’t see it that way. IMHO he achieved more than he even thought to be possible.

Dude became world champion while doing coke and drinking every day ffs.

It’s a strange thing to say about a 2 time world champion who was the first in his division to win all 4 of the belts but I agree with you he has wasted much of his career and didn’t fulfil his potential.

Long periods of inactivity, fighting bums, spending long periods not training and being a coke addict seriously harmed his career and despite all the shit he talks I think he will seriously regret it in the years after his real retirement.

It’ll be nice to win some money betting against him

to be fair, one casual look at his bank account might help if he starts to wonder what could have been.

That’s very true but as the saying goes you usually regret the things that you didn’t do more than the things that you did.

I can’t stand this guys father. Didn’t he head butt someone at fury’s last fight? Most people believe these guys are real gypsys (sp) when it’s really a nickname for fighting.

I like watching skilled fighters, though, no matter who or what style.

His father though? Blah

Lmao, was beginning I was too high and was wrong.

He’s good enough to beat glass jaw AJ

Yeah I gotta admit I’ve never been a big fan of Fury - talented boxer but he always looks soft and gooey .. can he not dial his diet in ..?

When they show him hitting the heavy bag from behind all I can think is good grief someone lipo out those enormous love handles.

Not a surgery guy but its gross looking
