Moicano’s Reaction

Moicano repeatedly called the stand-up “criminal” and “an embarrassment to the sport.” He argued that holding a locked-in body triangle on a dangerous striker’s back is an incredibly active, dominant position that requires immense energy and skill to maintain.

He lamented the financial impact of the loss, noting that the referee’s intervention directly cost him his win bonus. He posted: “I am working my ass off, dominating the fight, and a guy who doesn’t know grappling robs my win bonus. This is corrupt or stupid. No other explanation.”

He publicly called on the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to review the footage and take disciplinary action against Miragliotta, arguing that refs face zero consequences when their bad calls change the trajectory of an athlete’s career.

Stating that he required immense energy to maintain that position makes it sound like it was not a very dominant position and zero damage to his opponent
