Good point but I still think overall the quality is consistently dipping. And yes maybe we get no female main events but then we have to sit through like 2-3 female fights on a single card

I dunno, it feels like they’ve back ending them bitch fights pretty good on the cards.
ESPN had like 3 Amanda Lemos main events, on this card they had her 2nd on the main card.
I don’t mind a fight card starting with 2 chick fights like last week. Gives me time to settle in and do other things.

Yeah I mean I like taking breaks during the chick fights too. Idk. This has been the first year where I’ve actually missed several cards since probably 2008 or 2009. Perhaps my opinion has been distorted by my necessity to take a break from watching fights, as one needs to do sometimes. I find myself having to break from training too.

But I also miss the days of not leaving the couch during the card because they were much shorter and you were anticipating every fight. I like to be immersed into something that completely consumes my attention

The pace can so slooow at times
The shows on Paramount had started very badly, but then the 250 Freedom was EPIC beyond epic. A complet success. And the Conor card a very good one despitye the final dud leg break. Yet now it’s good main events with shit cards.
They won’t drop the volume of cards but they should.

I don’t think there is enough talent for MVP to be a real competitor but they could try to think outside the box to be successful. Single day tournaments to fill out the undercard focused more on pitting styles vs styles rather than MMA prospects like the old days.

The Dern title fight this Saturday is just the second WMMA fight of the year to be on a main card (and 4th overall on a big card).
Edit: Only 5 on main cards of Fight Nights as well (19 total Fight Nights) and 0 main events.
So a total of 9 main card WMMA fights on 27 events so far. They’ve definitely cut back this year.

I like the tpurnament format but don’t feel it’s near enough to get eyes on their product .. trying to make style vs style fights in 2026 won’t work either - you can put in a kickboxer vs judo guy but both are going to know how to fight all styles so it’s going to be a typical mma fight
There should be a “nothing has changed” Option.
They were putting dogshit cards behind a $90 a month paywall before. Now it only costs you about 12 bucks a month.
That’s a positive imo.
