This has been a problem forever, is well known, has been said to be fixed multiple times now but is not actually fixed. I only care now that the rankings reset so I look like a total noob and im not advancing in ranked so im just getting paired with actual noobs!
That would be frustrating.
I would definitely complain.
@onepunchJD Did you get the game? Lock horns with your son yet?

Merry Christmas amigo.
Yes and yes.
Overall I’m disappointed.
But I think I’ll elaborate in another post.
We had some good wars last night!
The best ones were him using Joe Frazier and me using Tommy Morrison.
We did 3 of those, all absolute barn burners.
Unfortunately, probably the best of them ended with a damn cut, which is a major criticism I have of this game.
Another great war was him as Rocky Marciano vs me as Jack Dempsey. IIRC it was another damn cut stoppage, 10th round, in a razor close fight where we each had a knockdown.
Yet another disappointing finish that robbed both of us of what would have been a dramatic last couple rounds – along with robbing us of any real satisfaction.
And we had a good one at middleweight with him as RJJ and me as Sugar Ray Leonard.
Great fight where I was up 29/28 in every round, and then he clean KO’d me with like 30 seconds left!
I have some complaints about the game, and plan to post a mini first-impression review here sometime this weekend.
Online it says Undisputed has Julio Cesar Chavez, but for some reason we don’t have him.
There’s some expansion back in the game store but I don’t see him on that either.
He’s in the WBC expansion pack.
I think you also get the 1964 version of Ali with that pack, amongst other things.
I hope you and OPJD Jr. are having fun with the game. It isn’t perfect, but I think it’s worthwhile and fun.
Dmitry Bivol is also in the WBC expansion pack. He’s a really cool fighter, and he helps make the LHW division better in this game, because the LHW division is a bit light on fighters. I think RJJ, Calzaghe, and Bivol are the three best, and they are all close and competitive with one another, and then it’s a significant drop-off after them. That’s going off memory. but yeah, I think Bivol turns that division into a three horse race, instead of just the two.
I’m down to play anyone anytime after 4:30 EST on PC.
Add me @Huxstable on Steam
Jimmy, do you know if we can match up cross-platform?
Turns out you can!
But my internet is out until 6pm now, having some outages and using my phone as a hot spot.
I’m going to have to dust off my e-boxing gloves. Haven’t been playing Undisputed for a few weeks. Happy to get back into it. Happy to have a few OGers to play with.
It’s been abkut a year since I’ve played but ive got all the updates and down to get into some online matches again.
I had 8k matches across various Fight Night games and don’t spam power punches or pull cheap shit.
Nice. I played a lot of Fight Night Round 3 and Round 4. I don’t spam power punches either.
Got Internet back, open to all invites.
That’s a post right there.
“Got internet back.”
“Open to all invites.”

Had to go to The Sawmill nearby to get internet access.
Gonna fight some folks jamming to some Rocksteady from this grandma DJ on Twitch:
Did you guys fight?
My early review/observations of Undisputed:
So far, there is a lot to gripe about. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like it.
I’ll start by listing the cons.
Cons:
Knockdown game.
The first thing that stuck out to me and my son, is the frustratingly counterintuitive method of getting up after you’ve been knocked down.
It’s the worst I’ve seen in a game, and IMO causes some potentially great wars to end prematurely.
I’m guessing maybe piano players or drummers are better at this than normal people, since they are more used to doing different things with both hands at the same time. I’ve gotten a little better at it over a few days, but it still sucks.
We tried the automatic option but for whatever reason it doesn’t work, so it’s just a part of the game I have to accept.
Yuck.
Cut stoppages.
This has been a real bummer.
I realize the game is supposed to simulate realism, and cuts are things boxers have to deal with. But it seems greatly exaggerated.
If the game is going to facilitate ring battles that go beyond what most real fights do – then it should also be more lenient with the cut stoppages.
And there doesn’t seem to be any way to turn it off! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a boxing game where you couldn’t turn cut stoppages off. It almost seems like the developers are trying to make some point, and in doing so have taken away from the enjoyment of the game.
Maybe the best fight we’ve had, I was Sugar Ray Robinson and my son was Canelo.
It was a back and forth battle, where I was slightly ahead on the score cards and neither of us had gone down. Then, about halfway through the last round he knocks me down with a body punch. Not sure if my lead was enough to overcome a 10-8 round, I figured I had half a round to even it up – so I start pouring it on – and of course he’s just as aggressive. So this was some Rocky vs Apollo shit where we’re both exhausted but just keep punching each other in the face.
It was beautiful.
And then – with 14 fucking seconds left in the fight – the ref steps in and stops it for a cut on Canelo!
Arrrgh!
My son and I just sat in quiet disbelief as our most epic of battles was robbed of any satisfaction in victory.
It’s a horrible flaw, and one that I almost can’t believe has continued – since they now have the technology to upgrade these things.
We want Rocky vs Apollo… not Vitali vs Lewis!
Good grief.
Career mode.
It’s not all bad, but IMO they emphasized the wrong things.
I won’t FRAT on this too much, as not everyone plays career mode. But I always do, because to me it’s most fun to create characters and build them up. I prefer that over fighting with establishes legends.
IMO there is way too much emphasis on managing a revolving door of coaches, cut men, and agents, renewing their contracts, etc. And you have to pay attention, because if you miss out on an upgrade you might not be getting your full potential in terms of development.
Also the managing of weight, rest weeks, and injuries between fights is a bit much.
I’m fine with them having some of that in there. But this to me is overkill. Random minor injuries can derail a training camp – and anyone who is smart will just reload the last save point. So why even bother?
And if you don’t carefully manage your camp you won’t be 100% for the fight. There’s more to it that I won’t go into the weeds about.
Again, it’s just a bit much.
It wouldn’t be so bad if there was actual training you could do between fights. But there isn’t. No bag work or drills to develope less obviously skills like footwork, bobbing/weaving, etc. And no sparring!
All the training is simulated, making your selections nothing more than a means to an end in terms of upgrading your stats.
I seem to remember other boxing games giving you a choice to simulate training or actually go through it and learn.
So the only way to really learn the techniques is to practice in some form of exhibition match.
That would be ok I guess – but then why all the extra crap with agent contracts and stuff like that?
It’s weird to me what they chose to emphasize vs what they chose to leave out.
Create character limits.
There are none lol.
To be clear, this isn’t career. Just the regular creater a boxer to use without going through the career path.
There’s no limits on the stats. So you can create a fighter who has 100 in every category.
Where is the fun in that?
There should always be some level of sacrificing in some areas to be elite in others.
IIRC Muhammad Ali is the highest rated HW with a 93 overall. That’s a very good rating – but it’s not 100 – nor should it be. Should have some incentive to unlock “boosts” in certain categories, or something.
But unlimited create character stats is just cheesy – and makes me not want to even bother.
Usyk.
That’s right.. Usyk.
They made him too good IMO.
He’s not the highest ranked fighter in the game, but he fights like it.
So far I haven’t detected any real weakness – and if he has one – it’s well hidden by his effectiveness at pretty much everything.
I don’t know if it’s recency bias or what.
The guy is a great fighter. But he very arguably caught Tyson Fury past Tyson’s peak – and in a relatively weak era. Yet this game has him rivaling guys like Ali and Ray Robinson – at least from my perspective.
Maybe there is an easy way to expose him and I’m just too much if a noob to see it.
I hope so.
But from fighting against him or using him – his skill seems exaggerated to me.
Bummer.
Little things.
Maybe I’m looking back with rose colored glasses… But this game feels like 2010 to me.
Where are all the improvements after 15 years of gaming technology?
Granted, the gameplay itself is probably a bit smoother. And to say that’s expected is an understatement!
The commentators still repeat the same shit over and over – and STILL in 2025 say things that don’t make sense for what’s happening in the ring.
They say shit after 10 seconds in the first round that would make sense halfway through the fight.
And in 2025 – they still can’t come up with a program that can call created fighters by their names – instead of using some silly generic list of like 50 “nicknames”.
What the hell?
And half the time the announcer can’t even get the color of the trunks right?
There is zero context in career mode beyond the generic “he’s coming off a TKO victory”.
Hell – Madden NFL 2000 had comparable commentary – probably even better!
Where is the technology gap here?
I just don’t get it.
Roster.
I realize there are expansions and will probably be more fighters added, for a price.
Fine, whatever.
But I was thinking back to games like Knockout Kings and Fight Night – and I could have swore they had much better rosters with more historic fighters. So I looked it up, and yeah I was right. I won’t bother posting the lists unless someone is curious. But they’re available with a quick search.
I don’t know if it’s a licensing issue or what. But these other developers didn’t seem to have much of an issue. Granted it took until Fight Night Round 4 to get Mike Tyson. But they got him, and that was well over a decade ago now.
Fighters Undisputed does NOT currently have (unless they’re in some expansion I haven’t seen).
Sonny Liston
Earnie Shavers
Ken Norton
George Foreman!
Mike Tyson!
Michael Spinks
Gerry Cooney
James Toney!
Razor Ruddick
Evander Holyfield!
Ike Ibeabuchi
Michael Moore
David Tua
I feel like I’m forgetting a big name…
Anyways, that’s just HWs off the top of my head.
I do give them credit for getting Tommy Morrison and Riddick Bowe.
But come on guys!
Let’s get these big names!
At the very least get Liston, Foreman, Tyson, Toney,Holyfield, and Lewis.
These are era defining fighters!
And no Roberto Duran??
Unacceptable.
Account sharing
This is among my biggest complaints.
There is no way to load created characters from 2 separate accounts into an exhibition match to have them fight.
The main reason I bought the game was so my son and I could do exactly that. IMO it is the most desirable aspect of a game like this.
The way it is, I would have to have my own X box and TV and sign into an online match to play my son.
Well that’s not the same thing as sitting on the couch doing a 2 player fight on the big screen!
What a bummer.
We did find a work around, which is to use the same account. That gives us 10 save slots for created characters, which isn’t even enough to have one in each weight class – let alone multiple for each weight.
But it’s better than nothing.
Honestly if we hadn’t figured that out, I would have considered returning the game, with a big red permanent marker swastika on the disk!
Thankfully they saw fit to at least give us the option to share a profile.
I don’t know what the deal is with these Nazi developers not catering to 2-player competition in the home.
Not everything has to revolve around fucking online gaming.
Everyone in the house should be able to have multiple created characters in their own profiles that are loadable for 2-player fights on the same consul.
What if we wanted to have a tournament or something?
Make a day of it??
Signs of the apocalypse IMO.
Pros.
I don’t really have list of pros.
It’s easier to list the complaints.
But again, I like the game.
The main pro to me is the actual gameplay during the fights.
That’s a big one because it’s probably the most important part.
Being in the middle of a war with a relatively evenly matched opponent really is a lot of fun, and the controls are generally smooth and responsive.
There are a couple minor issues, like when a fighter leans back for a few seconds and you can’t hit him. But I imagine they’ll keep working those bugs out.
I really wish the excessive cut stoppages weren’t a thing. It’s such a bummer when the rest of the gameplay is generally so good.
I like how the game forces you to be technical and manage stamina.
I haven’t played online yet, but it seems like the game play wouldn’t be beneficial to guys trying to spam power punches.
That’s a good thing.
My overall rating right now would probably be 3 to 3.5 out of 5 stars, for now.
More expanded roster and updates to improve certain things and that rating will go up.
I really wanted it to be a 5 star game for me – but it’s just not there yet.
That said, I very much look forward to playing on a regular basis, and am properly addicted for now.
.
The knockdown minigame is an interesting issue. Most people find it too easy as if to be arbitrary. In fact, I can get up 5 times with very little difficulty. A 6th becomes very hard as you have to start matching the bars before the knockdown minigame even appears. But you arent alone. Theres some hilarious discussions on their discord over this.
