Walk Off Kos Are Bullshit

Im tired of people trying to be cool and do this shit. It’s the fighter deciding the fight is over and the ref being put in an awkward spot so a shitty overrated ref like Herb Dean just stops the fight.

Some guy gets knocked down, ok it happens, but because the fuckin goof starts saluting the crowd and walks away the fight is over? How do we know he couldn’t recover. Do fights just stop now anytime someone loses their balance?

If the guy isnt completely unconscious you keep attacking until the ref stops it. This walk off shit is almost another cheater strategy now, oh if I just act like he’s ko’ed and go jump on the cage the ref won’t know what to do and will just waive his arms.

Fuck outa here.

I agree. Suga shouldn’t have walked off. Fight wasn’t finished.

Mirko vs Igor was pretty clear.

Yep that one really sent me over the edge. Guy wasnt unconscious he was immediately back to his feet as dumbass ref stops it. Whats next, OMalley decides hes won by standing tko? Maybe the refs should just let Suga Sean call the fight before it starts.

Can’t believe I’m saying it, but ol cheddar is right.

That’s on the ref to follow the rules.

UFC refs, man.

Often refs cuck to fighters.

Marc Goddard let Marty Usman dictate foul breaks in the first Colby fight.

Its sad and gay.

It’s like a mind hack. The ref sees it and is much more likely to call a stoppage.

Mark Hunt is the zen master of this of course.

Depends who lands the punch. If Derrick Lewis lands and KOs you, he can walk off,

If O’Malley does it with his child size hands though, probably best to keep fighting.

Ok so Sugars opponent wasn’t out cold.

Does anyone really think he needed or even wanted more damage. He sure didn’t seem like it.

It’s called main character syndrome or something

You’re missing the point. Fighters shouldn’t dictate when the fight ends on their own accomplishments, especially when they’re not completed.

Of course. That’s up to the ref.

Wasn’t even that bad a knockdown. Lewis, Pereira, Garcia and Chandler all got their heads beat in on the same card.

Sure but again when opponent doesn’t want anymore and is fine with it… I’m fine with it. No need to give guys more brain damage for our pleasure.

You’re also missing the point. The fight wasn’t called because O’Malley “walked off”. It was called because Zahabi couldn’t stand up. Consciousness had nothing to do with it.

But but… just bleed bro!!

They want to see every mofo KOd into another realm taking unnecessary brain damage. Even if the fighter doesn’t want it.

I found the O’Malley one very suspect too. But yeah, Zahabi was done. Still, could the ref really know? It’s as if Sean called it. But recall that O’Malley did that before in a previous bout and the ref had made him come back to land a brutal strike to a finished opponent. So it’s not like fighters decide.

Most walkoff KOs are great.

This opponent was still aware and didn’t show any signs of not wanting any more. But I agree. If he didn’t complain, it’s a fine.

It’s the lack of any consistency that’s the problem. Lewis was getting beat on for a good ten seconds after he was visibly done.
