What exactly is Conor’s legacy?

Dont forget he literally bought the pub and banned the old man.

I would say Connor was probably the best trash talker ever and MMA so far. He had the ability to get inside of other fighters heads like no other.

Which is a dick move but I respect the level of pettiness. It’s 50 Cent-esque

Lol

I think it’s even with Chael Sonnen. Chael had more wit, Conor had more DGAF attitude

Well he also was knocking people the fuk out lol

Chaels trash talking was clearly not serious. Connor’s trash talking seem to pierce the mindset of other guys. There was something more to it than just bravado.

the way he would embrace it though, like the ‘medium rare’ T shirt was just next level

He was fun! Definitely every promoters wet dream. Delivered on the Jose fight and opened NYC with the Alvarez fight. It ended pretty shitty but it’s real life not a movie.

In fairness you said back to back wins vs aldo and Alvarez. You got corrected immediately that it was incorrect because he lost to diaz via sub right after the aldo fight. Calling both diaz fights “exhibition fights” is disrespectful. The were both violent great fights

back to back wins with a title on the line

That isn’t back to back of there were 2 fights at a completely different weight class in between aldo and Alvarez

I forgot all about the Eddie fight bring in NYC. That was a huge deal at the time

Great point

Well said

Dramatic rise and fall. Great media savvy. Good striker. Came along at the right time to become a superstar.

But he stayed one dimensionsal. His cardio was a problem. He never defended any belts and He lost his hunger the minute he got a good payday.

I think he was a great FW. I don’t think he wouldve been a great LW or WW.

Uncle Chael says hold my beer.

Conor has an excellent legacy. He has more iconic moments than almost anyone.

He had to chase boxing money because Dana and Zuffa and now the new owners keep a giant, unwarranted share of the profit. Can’t blame him for that, but it sucks for mma and the fights we missed.

Aldo got clipped. I’ll give credit to conner for skilled striking but I doubt he would have beat Aldo if the fight went beyond 2 minutes. Alvarez looked off.

And those are Conner’s two best fights. There are so many fighters with better careers, better records with tougher opponents than conner.

The greatest box office draw in MMA history bar-none.

The amount of money he’s made from being a fighter, the next MMA fighter on the list is collecting peanuts in comparison.

He may not be a Top 10 fighter, but he is a Top 1 draw EVER.

It is what it is. Love him or hate him, he literally changed the game more than perhaps any other athlete in the history of their respective sport.
