This evening I watched the Tom Hanks “News of the World” movie and it was a good movie and which inspired this thread as I am now curious what people will claim is their favorite “Western” movie
Mary Poppins
Open Range
Tombstone is a classic for a reason.
Shane and the Searchers
Raskel I told you to watch Brokeback Mountain asap as its a beautiful movie. Whyd you watch some dumb Tom Hanks thing instead? Dont be a queer cat!
I think Appaloosa doesn’t get the credit it deserves, it follows the classic western story of good guys vs. bad guys, plus Viggo!
True Grit (original)
I’m actually about an hour into Bone Tomahawk, pretty good so far.
I was coming here to mention Open Range and Appaloosa!
Great movie that takes a turn
Open Range
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Wind River
Pale Rider
Tombstone
Blazing Saddles
“Pompey…”
Nevada Smith (GOAT)
The Searchers
Unbroken
From Noon Til Three
True Grit (both)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence
Blazing Saddles
Magnificent Seven (original)
The Wild Bunch (Somehow also GOAT)
Really enjoyed it.
Slow burn filled with tension.
The one with Leo and LOT of n word use
I’ve never been a huge Westerns fan but my top 3 are…
- BONE TOMAHAWK
- TOMBSTONE
- FLAMING STAR
