Yeah, my experience in the industry says that’s not remotely true.
Those are most likely pictures of the ERG’s (employee resource groups), where they gather all the females in the entire company and take a picture. Or pictures they take on like Woman’s Day or some shit.
Video game development is still dominated by men by a longshot. Every director and executive producer on the last half dozen games I’ve worked on have all been male.
Now that said, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a push for more representation regardless. But in my experience, that’s because tech workers tend to be more on the left in any case. These are nerds after all, and hyper-masculinity isn’t exactly their thing.
Hell they don’t even watch sports…hence why at my last studio there was a chat for American sports talk and there were like five of us in there. The brits still like their footy tho.

The last video game i played was some Tom Clancy sniper game 20 years ago…other than the lego Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean games i played with my kid. I dont remember anything feminine in those games.
I’ve been getting into Indie horror games. Most are short stories and I can get to bed at a decent time and have the game finished. Almost all of them are under $10 on Steam. I’ve got a list of about 20 on my wish list.
And I have yet to see any of the issues seen on mainstream games. There is actually a few coming out that are soon that are longer then an hour and a half of game play…
I played maybe a total of 5 entire hours of the entire franchise of Saints Row. I like my violence slightly not as off the wall as that series. But I did hear they rebooted it and just destroyed it like this for no really good reason instead of just making a new game with the same new shitty characters.
This video is goddamn terrible AI voicing but also only 2 minutes and a little funny while breaking down the changes.

I loved that series and played 2 3 & 4 multiple times. The reboot I played once. I had fun with it but what it could have been outweighs what I got from it…
