Why The UFC Erased Their First Superstar

Why did the UFC erase one of its biggest stars? Tito Ortiz was once the face of the company, helping carry the UFC through its early years and turning it into a global brand. But behind the success, tensions with Dana White began to build, from contract disputes and public accusations to refusing key fights, including against Chuck Liddell at the height of their rivalry. As the relationship broke down, Ortiz’s standing within the company changed, and his contributions were gradually pushed aside. This documentary explores the full story.

Tito was the second superstar to be erased. Frank Shamrock came first. Randy Couture was #3.

That fuckin shop on sherdog in the day…

Never forget.

Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock were the UFCs first superstars. Tank, Vitor, Severn and Frank Shamrock were all superstars before Tito. Randy wasn’t wildly popular until his second stint.
