Ive always thought Islam was better than BLOL. He looks bigger. Seems to have better striking and better grappling. Islam also seems to have a better game plan, strike just to get a shot. BLOL was stupid to strike for 3 rounds before going to takedowns. Islam will not make that mistake.
With this said Islam hasnt fought at 170, he has been bullying 155 guys. He has also never been punched by a 170 pounder. Ive seen Islam get slept so he doesnt have a big BLOL head with a BLOL chin. If he get pieced up too much he may drop.
JDM fought a great fight overall, but he made a few mistakes that could have cost him. Trying to wrestle BLOL, clinching with BLOL instead of breaking away and striking or getting away from the cage.
If islam takes him down he wont just lay on him, he will be cranking that neck harder than JDM has ever experienced.
Ithink the fight can go either way but I hope the ginger wins.
Messed up on the first poll
One of Islam’s greatest strengths is his size for the weightclass. Moving up he’s facing guys his size, not sure he dominates at 170. Will be interesting.

You would think he would do well, but it is really unknown how he will do, until he does it. Personally I hope he get bingoed

I think JDM will make Islam look stupid for wanting to move up to a weight class that’s 15lbs heavier. That’s a huge jump
I think I’m grappling it won’t hurt Islam, I think it will be interesting in if he can take a hard hitting WW punch. Volk had him wobbled and might have finished him if he had more time
I can’t imagine a world where Islam doesn’t do far better than belal did. Belal sucks and he’s 36 y.o.
Islam is a better fighter and in his prime
Belal is a 36 year old version of a guy who was a journeyman in his prime. Him getting the belt late in his career is, like when Jan got the LHW strap, an indictment on how weak the division is now.
Islam on the other hand is a genuine p4p level talent and not really any smaller than Belal either, hes probably stronger and harder hitting too.
