Awesome sequence. Becker was not only great but so entertaining between his massive serves and his diving. Also, I’m pretty sure that Sampras said Becker was the best he faced on indoor courts.

One more from the same match. Only 4 shots and each one brilliant.

That was great. I need to watch more of their matches. The crazy serving between the two of them, and the fact that Pete was so great but said Becker gave him such a hard time on indoor courts makes me want to watch more of their matches, particularly their indoor ones.

Becker battled the greats of the 80s and the 90s, winning majors spanning 1985-1996.

Me too. My Dad always loved Becker and i was a big fan of Sampras. Them two in 1995 had some great matches between them and with Agassi.

Becker was in 7 Wimbledon finals and 2 semi finals. Fanfuckintastic on grass.

Diving on grass maybe but hard courts? :grimacing:

We had some grass cpurts in our town park we could play on in the summer. But even on hard courts when you’re a moronic teenager and your hero does it you think fuck it😁

I didn’t really know enough about the game (still don’t to be honest) to really appreciate Edberg’s game. He was obviously one of the best serve and volley players, but he didn’t have that dangerous serve like Becker, so his game didn’t really jump out at me. Truthfully, he had a habit of beating my favorites, so I just didn’t like him at the time, lol.

Federer was obviously awesome at Wimbledon, but on the fast grass, before they deliberately slowed the game, i think him vs Pistol Pete on centre court wpuld be a battle for the ages. The Sampras that demolished Agassi in the 99 Wimbledon final was the best grass court player i have ever seen.

I can’t say I was ever a huge fan of Agassi, but this is one of my favorite matches ever:

Hey @MrBean, did you watch @CrowdersCommando’s Edberg video? I just finished it. I enjoyed it.

That’s an incredible way of defeating a guy.

I seen that he posted an Edberg vid, but I haven’t watched it.

Edit: Jast saw that it was only 11 minutes long. Was thinking it was a full on documentary, lol. Watching now.

I watched from when Agassi was down 3-5 in the fifth set, and he was serving. That was a good watch. Some classic Agassi returns in big pressure moments.

I had heard that before but I’m not sure I’d seen anything as in depth about it as your video.
