I got to Mount and controlled him for 8 minutes, the whole time he said get off me you fag! I won! I was only a blue belt then
Depends:
Do they have bumper stickers advertising to the world that they are gun guys?
Do they talk about guns every day to anyone that will listen?
Is being a gun guy a huge part of their personal identity?
I don’t know that a more simplistic/purist approach vs a collectors approach, matters as much as whether or not they wear the “gun guy” identity on their sleeve.
Very few people know I’m a gun owner.
It’s none of most people’s business.

I don’t know, I was just responding to the idea of guys who collect guns vs guys who only have a few guns making a big difference.
I actually don’t necessarily think gun guys are a great fit for the thread topic in general, because there’s so many different types.
I just think it’s funny people brought up gun guys because the stereotypical “gun guys” are funny to me.
What kind of wierd as rules did you fight under where you win by your opponent saying “get off me you fag!”?

Here and there but that may have been true pre-1993 more so than now. I think the lid has been blown off the traditional martial arts community, I was there and saw it happen. I have a couple BBJ and one MMA guy in our Judo class. There is more cross training now than I have ever seen. Now Martial Arts breed bad egos, that’s another discussion entirely.
