I think the UFC inherited a lot of ex-pro wrestling fans in the 00s. The kids/teens who had been watching WWF/WWF/ECW started hitting college age and wanted something to scratch the itch without the stigma of being fake and for kids. They find guys that look like Chuck fighting in a cage on events called stuff like âThrowdownâ and âVendettaâ and theres nu metal music and shit, the rest is history.

And Paul McArtney, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, and many, many others started from nothing but had an opportunity in front of them and seized it. Dana is deserving of some criticism for sure, but the dude is definitely a hard worker, tenacious and believed in himself. When he started with the UFC he was a ln awkward nerd goof. He made himself into who he is by force of will.
