Dana White walking out to beat the shit out of Eddie

What’s really disgusting is that his PR rep Cynthia Ortiz (CindyO) ran a vicious smear campaign against White’s own mother at his direction and continually impersonated her across the internet…then got caught.

Dana brings nothing to the table. The sport was ready to explode, but it had a Fertitta (imagine that) and compromised politicians (like McCain) actively suppressing it.

It wouldn’t have needed a brilliant businessman to make it work. The Fertittas got Dana new teeth, roids and a stylist to make him look less like a skinny dork and let him run their pet project. They own casinos, and it was a gamble.

But not much of one if you’re connected and saw the writing on the wall. They removed one of the greatest obstacles in the US to the sport itself (themselves).

And Dana in his full genius mode was against one of the biggest ideas that led to its mainstream exposure (TUF). What a visionary! Rofl

I remember that dummy. I pulled a swift one on her on the old site by listing Mayweather’s first 20 opponents as Dana’s and she bought into it.

haha

They give TUF too much credit imo. I don’t know anyone who started watching the sport because of TUF, those of us already watching just watched it.

Dana and I believe CindyO invited Squatdog on an all expenses paid trip to Boston to show him around town and who he used to box with lol

hate to take issue with you, no disrespect intended, but that isn’t representative of the gig here.

for sure there was a mass influx of posters at the time - that’s one measure. on sherdog i noticed this (while you savages had your incomprehensible frames.)

if Dana looks back of TUF 1 with happiness in his heart, you know something happened with the numbers more generally

Apparently some people weren’t around for the influx of those shithead ‘05ers. Arguably the worst group to ever migrate to the hallowed halls of mma.tv. TUF noobs, they were called.

(I was one of them).

I appreciate that but I just didn’t see it. I’m not saying it had zero impact but I think there was already a boom before that or around that time not necessarily because of TUF.

I get there was dialogue around them but I didn’t see it irl.

When I talked to my friends around the time who would watch UFC with me which was a lot of people. None of them watched TUF.

ah mate honestly, there are documentaries about this. dana and his kind friends were close to bailing. the crazy Bonnar/Griffin brawl suddenly made it viable.

for years.. we had nothing to toast… - Lorenzo

^I’ll search for it if you need me to but this is all guidance you can walk past.

They’ve said it a million times. I was not trying to say Dana white and Lorenzo didn’t say that.

I’m saying I think because UFC got popular around that time they attribute it all to TUF.

Who did it better?

It definitely played a major part imo. Things were already trending upwards for a year or two by then but that accelerated things a lot. That show was VERY visible.

Bringing in Brock was a big one too.

Dana White is exactly like the 2004 movie Alexander.
