GOAT is like beauty, itās all in the eye of the beholder. ALL these fighters are GOATS on some level, Islam included. GOAT has always been an opinion, not a measurable stat. Garry is a big rangey guy, athletic and fights safe. He gets underrated because hes a goofy weird guy and a point fighter, but hes not easy to beat, hence 17-1 going into the fight.

205 was much better in the Jon days. GSPs level of competition was every bit as good as the guys Islam has been facing since he won the belt. MW in the Anderson days vs today is a tougher call, I wouldnt rule out Vitor or Hendo from being champs today.

Even if it was gspās coach, he still one man with one opinion. I disagree with him.
Between the ages of 27-32, his prime, fact it Jonās steroids were never going to prop him up as GOAT for long, he needed to beat Tom the number 1 contender and defend his title.
Heās a fraud Islam is the real deal. If Islam defends twice in a higher weight class against top competition and beating Silvaās streak by yet another fight Jon isnāt in the conversation.
Islam needs one more win to cement it but heās arguably surpassed Jon the cheat already.
It doesnt always go that way though. He was in his early 20s with like 3 years of pro MMA experience holding a UFC title and near or at the top of p4p lists. That is not the norm. Then add to that all the shit he got into outside of fighting and its a recipe for peaking early.

Even if Islam loses his next fight he probably remains slightly ahead of Jon because heās a legit double champ and Jon is a fraud double champ on roids, plus Islam passed Silva.
But if Islam doesnāt do it, Amru will, Umar will, Usman will, Nabievā¦
the problem is you guys are assuming that there isnāt a dozen GOAT contenders coming from that camp on the way up.
