Why are we pretending that going up a weight class is a bigger problem than a lighter weight class? If I walk around at 155 and I normally fight at 135, thatās 20 pounds I have to cut which isnāt an easy task. Drains you of all your energy. Easier to fight at a weight class closer to the persons natural weight.
Again Iām not picking a guy who never beat a great HW at their peak to beat the GOAT HW.
Fedor is way better on the ground than Vitor, has some of the best hips and leverage ever, approached with a unique combination of heavy leather and throw attempts that Jones hasnāt seen, has HW power standing and on the ground, is solid in transition, has elite killer instinct, and 10 minute round to initiate serious exchanges.
Plus, Fedor was a sum greater than the whole of his parts.
I can see Jones trying to stay on his bike and use his reach for a decision. The Pride gloves take away some of the eye poke aspect, and the ring favors Fedor more than Jones.
Smart money is on Fedor IMO.
I think he finishes Jones and really hurts him.
