Don Frye on Mark Kerr. Lol

I mean that it could happen and Ken could get caught with a bomb. Tank could defend a takedown and Ken could find himself underneath eating big hammers that get the stoppage. I’m not saying that’s how it goes or that it’s likely to go that way. But it totally could.

I think UFC 6 Tank would have beaten Ken pretty handily. Taktarov was basically a more durable version of Ken. I know Ken had a draw with him but don’t think Ken could have survived the beating Taktarov did. Tank once said they sent Ken the contract to fight him and he wouldn’t sign it.

I believe that but what does Puerto Rican even mean? Aren’t they mainly mixed native, Spanish, and slave blacks? Its like saying someone isnt black cause they are brazilian.

During the Art Davie matchmaking days, sometimes they were fed easy opponents in the first round of the tournament. Kerr had a breeze at UFC 15 because Beneteau pussed out.

It’s extremely unlikely.

  1. Tank lost to pretty much every top tier fighter he ever faced. Duarte and a revenge fight with Cabbage are his best wins.

  2. Ken’s gameplans in those early UFC events were heavily grappling oriented. It was either takedown and drop back for a leg/ takedown and control/strike from top position/ or roll for leg submissions in transition.
Ken would absolutely not have attempted to even come close to trading with Tank on the feet. It would have been some combination of the Kimo and Johnston fights, and even if Taken managed to sprawl Ken would have just rolled for a leg.

  3. Ken has dominant wins over 4 guys who beat Tank – and one of Ken’s students (Bohlander) has a submission win over the guy who beat Tank in a fight that (inexplicably) went the distance (Ferrozzo).

  4. Tank has a “punchers chance” against anyone. And that’s all he’d have against Ken.
So yeah – Tank “totally could” beat anyone if he landed clean. But the odds are far against him vs top-tier opponents – as history has proven.

  5. Ken was at least as strong as Tank, and probably stronger, with far better cardio.

If Ken vs Tank happened, peak vs peak, in the 90s, Ken wins 10/10 times.
If they fought 100 times, then maybe Tank gets lucky once or twice.
But that’s a big maybe.

I love Tank as a fighter.
But there are levels.
Ken Shamrock is multiple levels above Tank.

Said nobody ever.

Good grief.

Ken beat the shit out of Taktarov so bad in a Lions Den session, that Oleg locked himself in the bathroom and cried for an hour.

Ken took it easy on Oleg in their fight because he wanted Oleg to be healthy to fight for him in Japan.
Also, Ken was likely coming down from an all- night ecstasy binge when he fought Oleg – and still handled him with a half-assed effort.

Tank would have had nothing more than a punchers chance for Ken – and that’s miniscule.

Scott Fucking Ferrozzo beat Tank by decision.

Good grief.

TDS is a hell of a drug – but KSDS might have come first, LOL

The best version of Tito we have ever seen put the most convincing beat-down of his career on an old/injured Ken who was a shadow of his former self, with multiple injuries including a torn ACL – and Ken still managed to buckle Tito’s knees and and escape to his feet twice, ending the fight on his feet before his corner threw in the towel.

By contrast – Oleg – who never had a fucking thing for Ken – basically took a nap on a completely gassed Tank Abbott’s belly.

Good fucking grief.

There is no comparison.

The Ken Shamrock who “lost” to Don Frye would beat any version of Tank Abbott.
Peak Ken wouldn’t even break a sweat.

You have to be trolling.

Just pointing out the obvious.

This is one of the most retarded things ever posted here.

There is literally nothing to back it up.

Ken struggled to beat Felix Lee Mitchell and got hurt so bad in the process he dropped out of UFC 3 and he was just gonna walk through Tank lol.

Ken was injured going into that event.

And what do you mean “struggled”?
Do you mean it took an injured Ken longer than it should have to beat an overmatched opponent who didn’t hurt or threaten Ken at all?

Is that how you define “struggled”?

But I guess Tank gets a pass for losing a decision to Scott Ferrozzo – who got subbed by little Jerry Bohlander??

FYI:
People cling to the silly narrative to this day that Ken “struggled” with Mitchell.
Funny how nobody seems to mention that Ken beat Mitchell faster than he beat Leininger.

Anyone who thinks UFC 6 Tank – who lost to Oleg, beats UFC 6 Ken, who easily beat Dan Severn – is drinking some really special kind of revisionist koolaide.

I’ll take it a step further.
Anyone who has that ridiculous opinion, is just an illogical Ken hater.
Period.
There is nothing more to it.

Didn’t the Rock who played Mark Kerr recently mop the floor with Ken in WCW? That = Kerr beats Shammy by leglock.

So if someone has a different opinion than you in the last couple of posts you call them retarded, a troll or illogical hater? I know you obviously must have some connection to Shamrock himself at some point or maybe the Lion’s Den but you can’t say for sure how any of these fights would turn out for certain and neither can i. Would anyone have ever thought at the time that an undersized BJ would have beaten a dominant powerhouse in Matt Hughes or that Serra would TKO GSP? Unpredictable shit happens in MMA.
