Hillbilly guy i grew up with and watched some of the early UFC videotapes with said he was at some really nice steakhouse with some buddies sometime in the last week in Knoxville,TN. I am sure he was drinking, as usual, but he claims he was smoking outside waiting for his friends and a huge black guy walks up to him in the parking lot and asks to buy a cigarette off of him. Anyways, he told him he could have one no problem without paying for it.
Says guy was really cool and they chatted for a bit and guy asked if he could take a selfie with him. Said he saw the name Maurice Smith on his phone. Says the guy then asked if he was ok with him posting it on his social media and my buddy says yeah. Said the guy looked to be in his 60’s. He said when he sobered up later he remembered that was the name of the guy fighting in the early UFC’s he had watched. I don’t have any social media but i was wondering if anyone on here could see Maurice’s and see if there were any matching pics posted in the last week that would match the story he told. I think he is full of shit as Maurice isn’t exactly a rare name for a black guy lol.
I looked him up and saw he was in Seattle and didn’t figure he would have run into the drunkard i know in some random TN parking lot. Yeah, i remember that now and him leg kicking Tank to death.
The only celeb encounter i ever had and it wasn’t really one i was just there was at a Hooter’s in Greenville,SC during the Carolina Panther’s first season. Twenty year old me and some buddies were down there and they put us in a corner table across from some huge black guys in Panther’s attire. They were all loudly talking about antics in practice and such sounded like. They were playing home games at Clemson Stadium that year and this was on a Friday night before Sunday home game.
Sam Mills was over there he just looked just like he could be a very solidly built construction foreman somewhere. Tyrone Poole was there and he was absolutely shredded and some huge guy i guess was a lineman of some sort. Had an older guy maybe a coach or equipment fellow of some sort. The funniest thing about it was every hot waitress in the place and even the female bartender came out to introduce themselves to them and the guys would just stop and politely smile and say hey and look annoyed and then go right back to talking about whatever had been going on at the training facility. Those super hot, young women didn’t even get their attention even though they were begging them for it lol.
He disappeared off old UG pretty suddenly. Heard a rumor that he was such a “fan” that Ken took out a restraining order on him or something. What went around on the UG anyways.
