Fighters you hated until they lost

Maybe not “hated”, but always wanted to lose.

Chuck Liddell for me. When he was on top i was always rooting against him. After Rampage beat him I became a fan.

Anderson Silva. Wanted him to lose SO badly when he was on top for so long. But what made me a fan wasn’t actually when he lost, but when he showed vulnerability and still found a way to win. Chael absolutely dominated him in a way that would have broken most fighters spirit. He showed himself to be a warriar and found a way to win. Even the desperate look on his face as he pulled off the sub, I still get chills thinking about that moment.

So just as i became fans of those guys, they basically stopped winning.

I guess i do tend to root for underdogs.

I totally get why a lot of people would dislike Izzy, but i immediately liked him. I think because he reminded me of Anderson.

Wasn’t a big fan of most fighters that fought in the WFA

I absolutely loathed Jon Jones until he got destroyed by Matt Hamill.

Ever since then, he’s been my favorite fighter.

Conor annoyed me until he dominated Alvarez. Then he went right back to annoying me with the lead up to the Mayweather fight.

Paige until she took that ass whooping from Rose and kept going until she got choked unconscious. Warrior.

I don’t know that I’ve ever hated a fighter until they lost. I don’t hate many fighters, but they usually stay on the shit list if they happen to get there.

Usman is far more palatable after he was humbled.

Bisping…and then he got the Hendo Bomb dropped on him and it humbled him a bit, and he chilled out

Might be the opposite here. I just don’t gel with the effeminate, dancing types.

Everyone says this but he was still spitting at corner men and being a generally unlikable dude years after that fight imo.

I think it was more around the time when Vitor kicked his eye out that he started growing on me.

I also don’t know if he would have been as hated as he was without the fans he had lol. I think those early losses changed their behavior more than Bisping himself.

Usman and Izzy are great answers

They were both so annoying but then they got humbled and were easier to watch

I enjoy watching them fight now but Usmans knees are shot so I think he’s almost done fighting and people have figured Izzy out

Hughes was easy to hate during his heyday but that era was awesome looking back.

^this entirely

There’s a fairly big list of fighters that I refuse to watch.

Lesnar, Khabib, Khamzat, Anderson, Chack

In fact, I use Chris Weidman’s KO of Anderson to brighten my day now and again.

I woke up with the shits and when i went back to bed i had a dream that a no name skinny white guy guillotined jones for his second, less destructive loss.

Am I gay?

The Nog bros feeding a bus a carrot is hilarious. “You mean they have the internet down there?”

“Whooooa, big fella”
