"He's not an Olympic Champion....He's not a BJJ Black Belt"

I always had trouble MATHING this. Dudes would claim Jiudo & BJJ as the ULTIMATE Self Defense but then when one of their team LOST it was always some excuse like:

“he’s not an Olympic Champion…He’s not a BJJ Black Belt”

so let’s see, in order for Jiudo to work you have to be a Olympic Champion…and in order for BJJ to work you have to be a Black belt which probably takes 12 years and the Price of a House

well that MATH always didn’t really sit well with me and I was a tad suspicious

The 10 years for a bjj black belt is bullshit and i think it was said early by the gracies in order to maximise profits out of bjj.

Sure there are ppl that get it quickly but I think there should be a lot more.

I stopped training it at my gym because it became more about money rather than the art.

There’s white/ blue belts in some gyms that can smash black belts. They shouldnt be wearing those coloured belts.

just kind of CURIOUS I guess…are they SMASHING them with JiuJitusu or Wrestling?

Does it matter? If a collegiate wrestler is able to take down, control and then sub a bjj black belt then he shouldnt be wearing a white belt

The 10 year thing seems asinine. There are dudes who become world champion FIGHTERS in a fraction of that time, not to mention anybody trying seriously in 10 years in kick boxing, boxing, wrestling, mt, judo, karate etc is going to be legit.

“This art is so badass you need to spend at least 10 years learning it all, just try to not get beat up in front of a Walmart in the first 9 years”

Jon Jones is still a blue? He would beat Gordan Ryan, Craig Jones, that little faggot Metamucil, Nicky R, and anybody else you can think of back to back to back to back in a fight, and he ripped lf Vitor’s arm, and dropped Machida like a sack of tators in context that really matters…a fight.

And when pajama grapplers get beat up as black belts they blame it on the injuries they accumulated in the 15 years of hard training it took to get their black belt.

The only thing these guys have mastered was the Brazilian’s greatest art which is making excuses.

BJ went from white to winning gold in the black belt division at the World JJ Championship in less than 4 years.

If “Professor” Rudimardolph Silvaranacie had his way, he would finally gotten his blue belt and not learned techniques that were so dangerous until he was ready.

There are levels. Bo Nickal says he beat a black belt with little BJJ training. I believe him

I’ve been wrestle fucked by athletic wrestlers and had to resort to leg locks which isn’t really my strong point. It was eye opening and made me want to get better with leg locks

no Nickys one of the best and trains 7 days a week and big,i trained at serras 8 years Ive seen some great wrestlers come in .Not naming names but never saw any new wrestler tap a black belt even brown…Ive seen some cocky ones under the impression that first day they would roll with Matt ..None have made it past a brown belt that ive seen..If a good wrestler is humble they do well quick,If have attitude they getting subbed

that’s like suggesting Every Dude who has suffered SRS ILLNESS is capable of being a MULTI TOUR DE FRANCE Champion

there are ALWAYS those RARE Mutants and it’s ridiculous logic to use them as the Average Measuring Stick
