Glad Prates won. Guys like him are what the sport needs more of.
Seems JDM is back down to earth. Not a top level guy. It’s easy to forget he was barely beating people like Holland before Belal made him look good.
Tuivasa… BKFC. Not going to get a bigger layup in the UFC than what he got here.

You look at the camp that JDM trains with and nothing about that camp screams world title contender over a long stretch of time.
Neither does DDP’s camp so it’ll be interesting to see how he does again the new crop at 185, since he’s clean out the old crop of Izzy, Whittaker, and Strickland.
DDP has had a long layoff and seems to have disappeared. Curious to see what he’ll look like when he comes back.

Prates looked great in that fight.
He was supposed to return earlier but got injured. I read somewhere that he might be fighting Usman soon.
And you’re right about the camp. I remember hearing his coach say all he needs is ‘weeks’ to close the wrestling gap with Chimaev after the loss lol.
There are times I forget about DDP being a fighter and former champion - he needs to fight asap.. rumors of him vs Kamaru Usman which is decent matchup

I had to look up Beneil’s record because I don’t remember him ever not disappointing me. Just another grappler that decided he’s a kickboxer. Would be fine if he was a good one and could take a punch. But go ahead, Beneil, don’t use your grappling and keep getting knocked out. His coaches should be fired.

He just didn’t throw enough at first, just stalking but not throwing much. Then Prates started picking up on his defensive habits then just spammed the strikes that were working, and JDM did not adjust his defense at all.
Prates went to the body then added more low kicks. Then from there it just started accumulating. JDM still barely throwing and randomly going for takedowns.
I think the biggest thing Prates did strategically was disrupting JDMs rhythm at all times. He always countered quickly or threw with JDM, and he was never able to get his reads because of it. He could never settle in. Jack is a pressure rhythm fighter kind of like Max but if he isn’t able to find that he simply doesn’t have the tools to stand and trade with somebody with as many weapons as Prates.
Prates also exposed the weaknesses of high guard. JDM also showed the vulnerabilities of using one specific type of defense and nothing else.

I think the negro got ripped off. 
Party Time and Johnston were excellent.
The Thickness and Morales… Morales fucked up, but it was close.
