Yeah, GSP had some skin damage from a poke under the eye and an uppercut that caught the tip of his nose. I actually watched the fight, again, in the last 30 minutes.
BJ did not beat up Georges. Georges won the fight and was not beaten up.

The funny thing is that it WAS a split decision but guess who the single judge was that scored the fight for BJ?

Cecil Goddamned Peoples scored the fight for BJ, and the two sane judges that aren’t punchlines scored it for GSP, who won the fight.
I’ve never heard Cecil being accused of being crooked, just incredibly moronic and wildly incorrect.

Check this out, I’ve got it teed up at the decision. Cecil peoples is the only guy that scores it for BJ, and right after the decision is announced the camera pans over to Matt Hughes who nods his approval of the decision and mouths the words, “He won.” Matt was the champion at the time and was slated to fight the winner of Georges/BJ. He wanted BJ to win so that he could fight BJ.

100% this. GSP dominated the fight. It just looked bad because of the uppercut to the tip of the nose.

BJ is a legend but I personally put Gomi just above him, despite Gomi losing to BJ
BJ was likely the more skilled and talented fighter but Gomi had a more impressive and longer run at 155 than BJ

All those old time judges are crooked. They can totally influence the outcome of a fight for bookies. So can refs
I don’t agree with that, but do you think Matt Hughes was crooked too? Matt thought GSP won.
I think BJ’s prime was short lived for whatever reason. However, within that time dude was best out there. It’s hard to pick hypothetical fights but I don’t know if he could beat Khabib.
I do think had BJ grown up in the favelas he could been even better.

When he was with the Marinovich his gas tank was top tier.

This is not necessarily accurate. BJ marked up GSP in the first round and got the 10-9. The next two rounds were all GSP. Re-watched this fight within the past year. Each time watching the GSP win is clearer to me. First time thought it was closer than it actually is.
