I saw Ronda on stage telling the crowd that her fight with Gina is THE ONLY fight fans want to see and the UFC is shit. This fight people are clamoring for and the only fight that makes perfect sense.

If Netflix goes all in with entertaining matchups they’ll do well. More people will watch a shitshow barnburner with famous fighters than a Dagi humpfest between ranked fighters that people haven’t heard of.

People will complain about anything. I have thoroughly enjoyed the UFC recently. When MMA was in the dark ages we would all have never believed that we would be getting to this level and we could get world class fights, without ppv, on a weekly basis. It’s fucking awesome. I’m looking forward to the Netflix fights. The UFC model isn’t designed for special attraction type fights with veterans facing off. It’s for young lions. There’s enough space for other promotions to host fights and to do well.

Sports go through dry periods when it comes to stars, so it’s not unheard of but ya definitely not a good time right now to be a fan.

All these fighters are 1 and done, Netflix doesn’t have anything on UFC. Maybe they can do 3 or 4 cards a year (max) with no names and has beens. Don’t get me wrong, I love has beens. But this isn’t sustainable

Neither of these fights are “comebacks”. They’re sideshow circus acts. Now that being said will people watch? Oh fuck yeah and I’ll be one of them.
It’s probably wise the UFC stays out of this game.
