I feel like I remember Overreem getting rocked, albeit not KO’d quite a bit. But my memory is definitely hazy. But he’s probably a good example.
In Overeem defense he was getting KOed by prime shogun and Chuck
Nah bro, the new narrative is that he only had a glass chin all those years because he was dehydrated ![]()
That’s one i haven’t heard
This
Overeem sort of reminds me of Arlovski in that he had a good chin but a lot of times fought recklessly or with his chin on a silver platter
Once he was at heavyweight and started evolving his game to be more defensively sound, he took less damage but overall showed a good chin. It is heavyweight, and the guys who knocked him out weren’t bums.
Arloski is one of my favorite fighters. He was at the top in the beginning and rose to champion quickly. He fell hard, but he didn’t give up and resurrected his career. Didn’t think he would beat Big Ben in BFKC.
Also how taste his big pee pee
Maybe jon jones is a rich mans johnny walker
Jon Jones is so much better though.
Superior chin
Superior game planning, Batman level shit
Light years ahead on wrestling and ground game
Ground and pound is also vastly superior.
Walker doesn’t control distance well and can get blitzed. Jones might get cracked but he wears it good. He clinches and slows down the barrage
The only similarity is the size and those knees. I’d say walkers knees are better than Jones
It’s crazy because when Walker wants to control the distance, he’s very good at it
But then just decides fuck it I don’t like winning
Walker controls the distance if its single strikes, throw a swarm and he looks like a new born giraffe
Parkins isn’t a jobber though
He is a good HW with heavy kicks
Lets not pretend Jones was willing to test himself against up and coming HWs
He fought two handpicked fights after bailing the LHW division when it got rough for him
If Jones was so badass he would have fought more often and fought HW closer to 2013 when he first spoke of moving up to HW.
His kicks did seem good, I will take back my jobber comment.
I honestly think Jones could go into rehab and beat Gane is 7 months
Jonny Walker hurt him first with kicks so Parkins was trying to show him it wasn’t one way action, Parkins left leg was all marked up after 2 minutes of fighting.
Walker didn’t like those kick, he should have kept doing it
No way Parkin would have been able to deal with that clinch. I doubt there is even a single heavyweight on the roster that trains the clinch. It’s unreal how useful and dangerous that skill is and yet everyone just trains the same damn thing. Johny’s body type is perfect for that position and he knows how to control the head.
His clinch is dangerous
Elbows have shown to be deadly and he has great knees as well
Yeah he does well with the plum and he doesn’t need to pull the head down to land a brutal knee. That guy looked like he got shot from a sniper the way he dropped.
