Sean Strickland fires coach Eric Nicksick

Longo was coaching Merab against Umar recently. “He don’t like that pace, Merab!”

That whole thing reads like a coach looking for clout.

Yeah, my take, he’s never made anyone else into a star, he’s only coached already established fighters. Shaun was his main guy.

Now he’s focused on himself and blaming Shaun instead of taking responsibility.

I for one wouldnt want to work with a coach like that. Someone who will throw you under the boss after an L. Fuck that guy.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Yeah, but Strickland isn’t going to do that to anyone high level.

With DDP’s strategy, I dont see how Strickland could have possibly beat DDP. He is a read and react with constant pressure type of fighter with little power.

DDP kept up constant movement, power and unpredictability. I dont see a strategy Strickland could use to defeat that.

Nicksick is just shitting on his fighter because he’s a self serving scumbag. It was uncalled for.

He, Merab and I cant rember the name… Muhammed, all do something similar. High pace, strong, herky jerky movements, unpredictable. Merab and DDP both have power.

All 3 seem half retarded.

Retard Pace is like Sea Level Cain.

Agreed. I never saw that coming. I never thought he was a top tier fighter.

Retard Pace. No one can defend!

Cope.

Completely justified. Nicksick already said what had to say during fight. No need to repeat and exacerbate on podcasts. Seems like Nicksick interested in becoming star more than coaching and having fighters’ backs. You have something additional to say? Say it to your fighter in gym face to face, not to entire world right after your fighter lost badly.

Other fighters in gym should also be wary of Nicksick shitting all over his fighters for fame. If he did that to one of his champions days after bad loss, most fighters in gym area easy potential targets.

Coaches in MMA get way too much credit. Sean was passive? That’s the fighter he’s always been. Have to find a way to win with tools your fighter has. You can’t reinvent a fighter in one camp. Besides, need more activity? Let’s see Nicksick be more active against a world champion with knockout power, especially after badly broken nose.

Coach isn’t the man in the arena. Reckon it’s their ego talking because they can’t accept they look bad for their fighter losing.

I’ve never been in the arena, and with a crowd so big, I’m amazed when I see a fighter of that caliber able to hear and act on everything their corner is saying.

I think he was just overwhelmed by DDP.

Retard pace is too much to overcome.

He’s the employee and he trashed his boss in public with comments that should have been kept between him and his boss.

Sean did the right thing firing that snake.

It’s you being a ghey fan making excuses for a fighter.

Lighten up ya twat. Did you want him to back up his words or not? If your answer has a shred of concurrence stfu and let him makes the excuses for himself or keep whipping out your tit for him, your choice.

We’ve seen that a million times though. Sometimes fighters (for whatever) reason can’t do what they are being asked to do. It’s very much the nature of the game.

The coach didn’t say anything really bad until he started questioning if Strickland still had the desire in him to be a champion.

I heard this guy is available
