Looks like we have a new meeting area to share our fish stories.
Going out tomorrow night for musky. With all the cold nights, temps are back down in the low 70s. Looks like a great night, SE wind and chances of a thunderstorm.

got some ok fish this year so far but nothing has topped end of season last yr
DId well on Nip this year. GBay kicked the snot out of me
back to back fishless 12 hour days on GBay this year in 96 degree heat full sun no wind almost gave me brain damage lol. To top it off, a monster storm rolled in and almost killed us with lightning. Never been in a boat and seen lightning come so close to me…well one other time lol
I’m not really a fan of yours, but tell me where you put in and I’ll send you a couple solid musky spots if you want them.
Hell yeah, good to see you boys not in queer land. We picked up 10 trout last night and are headed back out now.
Next time come in September lol. Gbay is a mean bitch
Sometimes spots don’t matter when it’s blue skys, no wind and 80deg water temps. I know who he was with and it would be hard to top this cats knowledge of the bay, but nice offer though.
Just out of curiosity are you a local to the bay? I’m 5 min from the salmon grounds and 30 from musky. Just curious is all
In.
My youngest was recently bit bigtime by the fishing bug, so I’m in to learn more from you legends.
What are you guys targeting? Lots of multi species anglers on here.
Right now, he’ll take any and all, lol.
He gets up with me at 530 am and has me drop him off at the lake by our house and I’ll pick him up on the way home. No fucks given.
We usually head out again after dinner. As an FYI, most of his fishing is currently done from shore.
I’d say right now he’s getting mostly bass and northern.
@iFish_CTT is relatively close to where live (hour and a half)
I agree. I don’t target musky on hot bluebird days.
Yes, I’ve spent my life on the bay. Never really focused on salmon though.
Nice, chances are we have crossed paths out there.
Indeed.
lol- I didn’t think anyone was 5 mins from those anymore. My grandad used to take me out for salmon a couple times a year- he would always lament that it was dead compared to its heyday. I’ve heard some claim the last decade or so that there is a bit of a lake trout bite coming back compared to the old days. Not sure if it’s true or not. Definitely more pickerel than there were when I was young. Still not back to old school levels.
I mostly go for musky and pike these days. Occasionally smallies, but that’s usually only when a friend requests it or I’m fishing with someone that isn’t geared for esox
Looking forward to chucking this thing around this fall. Bought it off a buddy who never used it and was selling off some gear. Said it was hand made by a neighbour of his. No idea what sort of action it has. Hope it can take a beating bouncing off shoals.
Tells me tonight he wants to target large Northern. Any suggestions on lures? Times to fish etc.?
Depends where you are, but large spoons, jointed crank baits are good. You will want a good leader. If you don’t normally fish them, important to know they will rip through mono and even braid. And obviously don’t stick your fingers in its mouth.
Pliers, leader, know your gill grip. Have fun. Even the small ones in the weeds are fun little snot rockets to catch. And pike are some of the best eating imo once you know how to deal with Ybones.
Ahhh- I missed the shore part. Yeah- the bigguns are out deeper this time of year where I fish. But depending on the lake, 24- 36" from shore would be a blast for a youngster.
Minnesota?
