i got out of UFC for so many reasons listed. But mainly I got tired of looking for streams and paying ppv prices. I’ve gotten back into UFC since it’s been a Paramount. it’s easy to follow now.

When they bought out/destroyed all the smaller orgs and watered down their events leading up to cashing out. They literally killed the sport.

I remember when he fought Mayweather and they had a press conference everyday that week. It was entertaining if nothing else. although a mockery of real mma I suppose.

It was a gradual thing and a culmination of everything mentioned for me. I started watching in '01 and I feel like I got to watch the pinnacle of the UFC.
Around 2007-2012 was a special time. Felt like we had so many all timers as champs at the same time. Penn at LW into Edgar. GSP with WW on lock. Anderson Silva’s legendary run at MW. The ever changing, always exciting LHW division with legends galore, Chuck/Rampage/Machida/Shogun into the beginning of Jon Jones’ reign. And HW we had Couture/Brock/Mir with the ever hopeful dream of a still deadly Fedor coming over.
It was such an exciting time, pride fighters coming into the US as well. 5 stacked divisions and even though HW was a bit light on in UFC, Strikeforce had a remarkable HW division to tune into.
Then came more weight classes, WMMA, more cards, prices went up, legends started losing and we ushered in the McGregor era where it felt like everyone was trying to say outlandish shit to build their brand, Goldberg goes, sponsorship goes and my interest dropped.

Honestly in hindsight I think things started going downhill after the Fox deal. Not that the early days of it weren’t still good, but it represented the point where they shook hands with the corporate devil and were accepted as an established sport rather than the young outsider sport it had been before. Then within a couple of years we are getting 40+ cards a year and WMMA and shit just doesnt feel the same anymore.

Rogan’s the worst at this and has been guilty of over exaggerating for 20+ years. Saying people are rocked or hurt that clearly aren’t rocked or hurt. Every fucking event i swear he does that shit.
The commentary reaction camera is cringey as all hell too. It reminds me of a really bad sitcom with fake laugh tracks added in to signal to us when we should be laughing.
