The New Official OG Tennis Thread

Sinner hates to run. Nobody makes him go back and forth and up to the net.

Alcaraz seems like the only player that can take Sinner out of his comfort zone.

Sinner should have got one of those volleys but is just not comfortable when being forced to run.

holy shit that last point, wow

Great point too many players (including Djokovic) seemed to just go toe to toe with Sinner and fail.

Alcaraz really makes him move and guess and mixes it up so much more. He isn’t a predictable force to play unlike most players who face Sinner.

5-0 second set is unbelievible for Carlos.

Definetly did not expect this!

Would be hilarious if Carlos could get the bagel here!

Carlos is putting on a masterclass on how to beat Sinner.

Nobody else can even take a set from the guy.

Sinner will get this one, I’m sure. Won’t go out 0-6.

He does it!

Clearly saved his best Tennis for the final and becomes just the 5th player to win all 3 clay court masters events

If he plays his absolute best no-one can compete with him on clay right now it seems.

Wow. What a performance.

Against a guy who hadn’t lost a match in over 228 days.

just checked the rankings, cool to see a 37 year old novak chilling in the top 10 with all these young guys.

He has shown that he can definitely still compete at the top in 2025. Just can’t seem to do it consistently anymore sadly.

Would love to see Djokovic be competitive at the French open but I’ve got a strong feeling that we will likely see Alcaraz and Sinner in their first final together.

I can’t see Djokovic beating Sinner or Alcaraz.

Djokovic has always been a guy that does something amazing when he looks down and out but I just don’t think he has the legs anymore to keep the pace against those guys for 3 to 5 sets.

Father Time will even catch up with the greatest eventually.

Sadly given his form this clay season I’m inclined to agree.

He did beat Alcaraz at the Australian open but Carlos is a very different beast on clay and is in substantially better form now than he was at the start of the season.

Just not sure with the physicality of clay over 5 sets Novak can compete anymore but we will see he has certainly proven me wrong many times before lol.

It’s sad but think about it this way.

If Djokovic were to win, it would be one of the great sport stories in our time IMO.

Kind of like Jack Nicklaus winning the Masters at 46.

But tennis takes a lot more legs than golf so we’ll see.

He’s been rough on clay but maybe with a new coach and new start he could make a run on grass?

Good comparison with Nicklaus it would definitely be up there no doubt if Djokovic were to squeeze out another slam at his age in this kind of sport.

Yes Wimbledon or the U.S open are more likely slams where he could make a semi or even a run to the final.

Could he beat Sinner or Alcaraz there now if he meets them? Would be very difficult but who knows with a new coach we may see a new and improved Djokovic and then you never know what might be possible.
