Nasty left hook.
Lol Evans is not Mike Tysons son
Lol,duped again. ![]()
He does sorta look like him.
Was it Tyson who had a son who said he wanted to be a fighter, and Tyson just laughed?
I think it was Mike Tyson, but it might’ve been another fighter. Their son said he wanted to be a pro fighter, and the father just laughed. He had to explain to his son that the son grew up rich, and doesn’t understand the grueling work and dedication needed to become an elite fighter. The father had to explain to the son that he was too soft and not hungry enough to make it as a fighter.
Tyson did describe a Rogan interview his son telling him that he wanted to box. Tyson told him that he grew up too soft. Tyson told his son that the promoters would protect him for his first 15-20 fights but sooner or later he was going to run into somebody just like Mike and he was going to get hurt very badly.
It was… And he’s not wrong. Tyson’s kids grew up privileged and never having to scrap and fight for anything. That isn’t a knock on them or Tyson, it’s just what it is by nature of being Tyson’s kids. He provided and shielded them. Good for him.
A talented and athletic fighter can go far on natural ability alone. But at some point a gifted fighter whose never known real adversity starts running into other talented and gifted fighters who have a tenacity and will that only comes from having known a life of adversity. There’s a reason there are so few multi-generational champs in fight history. And the very few there are, the sons tend to be highly skilled who never fight wars of will.

I could see where the son of a fighter would want to give it a go.
But being Tyson’s kid would be like having a target on your back. Everyone would want to be the first guy to beat him.
Although Holyfield’s kid fought IIRC.
Yep,look at what happened to Marvis Frazier,Joe was even in his corner
The inoue’s are rich kids and they’re tough as nails.
Kid looks good
There’s more to it than just environment.
There’s an element of it some people are just born with, and certainly a spectrum where some have more of it than others.
I reckon environmental factors can significantly boost whatever grit was naturally a part of you.
But if you weren’t born with that certain something, AND you also grew up easy, that’s not a good place to start from if you want to fight fighters.
Had Tyson seen some uncommon grit in his son – despite the privileged upbringing – maybe the whole “grew up soft” speech would not have been necessary.
It’s a wise father who knows his own child.
No offense I’m a fan but they’re also a little nutty too, right? BJ Penn grew up rich but is a crazy person and that seems to have made him a champion.
He lost one of his kids in a tragic accident when she was a toddler. Strangled on a cord dangling from a treadmill in their house. Sad.
If you see imposters on a daily basis you have GOAT potential.
I think you’re embellishing this. She fell off the tread mill.
I might be misremembering but I thought she was strangled.
Yeah.
Exodus was playing near a treadmill in her Phoenix, Arizona home. A cable cord hanging beneath the console formed a loop. She either slipped or placed her head inside the loop, which acted like a noose and strangled her.
The odds of that happening, very sad.
