Overeem on the horsemeat vs current Alex Pereira. Who you got?
- Ubereem
- Poatan
On the horse meat
overeem was truly a demolition man, his speed, power and aggression once he found his range was hard for anyone to beat. His glassjaw may betray him but I think overeem ragdolls him before he gets caught.
Now pre meat and post meat isn’t even top 10 in lhw or hw honestly. On the meat he’s top 5.
I would pick horsemeat ubereem Vs anyone. Dude was the best fighter on the planet.
I wouldn’t say isn’t top 10 HW… even off he’s the most skilled heavyweight of all time. He just can’t take a shot. He was still putting together 2-3-4 win streaks against top 10-15 comp.
No juice and that chin is not going to end well most of the time. I was binge watching career highlights recently and overeem was one and he was a beast until he got clipped and then he turned to jello. At heavyweight he loses to quite a few guys he would destroy on the juice.
I’d say top 25 if I’m generous at lhw and top 15 at hw without the juice but prime fedor still beats horsed up overeem 9/10.
Horsemeat ubereem beats prime Fedor imo but I wouldn’t be shocked if it went the other way. Fedor was a winner you can’t count him out.
Anytime overeem got hit hard he crumbled, the fight never lasted more than a minute after he was rocked. He could be winning a fight and then suddenly he’s trying to remember what legs are. Horse meat reem (screams porn name) didn’t suddenly have this ungodly chin, no he had a fearsome offense that overwhelmed everyone he faced until he popped dirty.
Fedor on the other hand bounced back and won fights after being completely rocked and he usually finished those fights in under a minute after being rocked. Yes fedors chin went around strikeforce but that’s after 30 dominant fights where he overcame adversity multiple times to prove he was/is #1.
Fedor had no fear in his prime, if ever, his hand speed and accuracy would find that chin and he wins the fight.
We never saw ubereem even lose a single second of a fight.
I know this isn’t mma but I was going to say the same thing. Overeem was all or nothing, he had strategy until he was hit hard then he looked like Rashad with his stanky leg.
I would take juiced reem vs almost anyone but prime fedor and maybe a few other guys from their primes. A good fight would have been overeem vs big nog from his prime, I’d love to see how long nog lasted or if he could pull a kimura or something else off.
When Overeem vs Werdum happened in Strikeforce, it was verrrry arguable that the UFC (which also did not have Fedor, Arlovski or Silva at the time) did not have the best heavyweights. Although the UFC had Brock, Cain, Mir, JDS.
Long Nog, the missing third brother
Three brothers go for a walk, one says “look a donkey, let’s feed it a carrot”.
Suddenly 2 of the nog brothers were struck by a bus they thought was a donkey. Tragically 1 brother, succumbed to his injuries after being drug a LONG distance, while another brother survived with a BIG dent in his back. The third brother took LITTLE damage from flying carrot chunks. And that is how the nogs got their names (maybe but probably not).
A spin of the sonnen tale to include Long Nog.
Actually deflated Overeem got dropped by Roy Nelson and came back to beat the shit out of him
Bullshit stoppage and in the fight before that Badr got fucking demolished. Also, I believe this was after they changed the rules to make it harder for Overeem to win because they were pissed he was destroying everybody
Nightmare matchup for Nog. Overeem is extremely hard to take down and only lost to Werdum by submission when he was jumping weight classes up and down. One he went heavyweight, Werdum never even got close again in their other fights.
