Ubereem was one of my favorite fighters but he is a glass cannon. He can beat any man when he is on, but he has lost to lesser fighters that he should have beaten. Seems like if his opponents ate his best shots he lost heart

Ubereem never really lost. When he was jumping weight classes every month when he first was going to heavyweight, he lost the rematch to Sergei, but once he committed to Heavyweight he didn’t lose for years. Also only lost once? In K1 during that time.

I wanted Ubereem to be ufc champ and I was dismayed when he lost to Bigfoot. I think if Ubereem didn’t have usada he would have been champ

For about 3 years around '09 -'11 he was dominant with big wins in both K-1 and MMA.

Ubereem was a force of nature.

Econoreem was pretty good too.

That wasn’t even close to Ubereem. That was worse than the later Overeem because he hadn’t figured out how to get his body to work without the hormones yet.

The one that almost jumped over the cage to knee James Thompson and the one that completely laughed at Lesnar would have killed Giant Silva in no time.

That was the thing. You had starvation reem Who would win here and there. Early heavyweight reem, Ubereem, Undereem and Econoreem.

I thought that Ngannou avoided Jones.

Jones avoided the HW division in general until such time that it was finally weak enough for him to make his legacy move.

The timing was on purpose.

And many of us correctly predicted it for years.

A quick AI Q&A:

The Jon Jones Fight

While Ngannou was the champion, the UFC wanted to book him against Jon Jones, who was moving up to the heavyweight division. [1, 2]

  • Ngannou’s Stance: Ngannou accepted a fight with Jones for early 2022, but contract negotiations stalled. He felt the UFC’s financial offer was too low and the terms were too restrictive, especially considering the massive revenue the Jones fight would generate. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • The UFC’s Stance: UFC President Dana White claimed that Ngannou knew the fight was a risk to his earning potential and intentionally priced himself out of the bout by demanding unreasonable terms. [1]
