The locals had their own license plates and hated the white-ification of Hawaii. If you hunted, did jitz/mma, surfed big waves, spearfished, etc. the Hawaiians accepted you.
The white people getting beat up is both overblown and real. The schools are rough, but for adults if you’re not a shithead and could handle yourself it just wasn’t a problem.
