r. Judges shall ALWAYS give a score of 10 – 8
when the judge has established that one fighter has dominated the action of the round
. Judges must CONSIDER giving the score of 10 – 8 when a fighter shows dominance in the round even though no impactful scoring against the opponent was achieved. MMA is an offensive based sport. No scoring is given for defensive maneuvers

If a fighter has little to no offensive output during a
5 minute round, it should be normal for the judge to consider awarding the losing fighter 8 points

You’re right, I’ve read the entire rules before and a 10-8 is supposed to be given when a fighter dominates the action. Doesn’t have to be a sub attempt or near KO. It’s just that the scoring has never been done that way in reality so we are used to never seeing 10-8’s

Almost like one guy knows how to stop takedowns and get up, and the other one doesn’t

i guess my point is at this highest of levels (championship level) that there is such a stark disparity between a champion who seems like a total amateur at stopping takedown, and another champion who is expert level at the same. Strange to me that there is such a disparity between champions of all people

Bo already said he wanted to fight Khamzat before. Its his best chance to get into the actual title picture at this point. If anyone should be turning down that fight it’s Khamzat. He would have little to gain and much to lose

Khamzat has many weaknesses and not being great off his back appears to be yet another one of them.

Khabib was so much of a more well rounded grappler.

It was razor close but I can totally understand an argument for Khamzat winning. I will say that the books up to the fight was great, right up to the security in the cage. The fight itself was just ok.
