All Aspects of TENNIS Discussion

Sinner (1) vs Zverev (3) starts soon, in the semi-final of the Cincinati Open. Rune (15) vs Tiafoe is scheduled for 6:00pm.

Sinner vs Zverev is a big match. Any predictions on who takes it?

Nadal is my favorite. When I watch matches from his early peak I’m amazed by his speed and agility.

Both have been playing in top form.
Edge going to sinner.

Sinner is nearly a 2-1 favorite but Sascha has a 4-1 record over him. This is their first meeting in 2024 so Sinner prob due to his recent form.

Sinner and Zverev are in a first set tiebreak right now, but play is currently suspended due to rain. Zverev will be serving at 2-3 and play resumes.

I’m reading that Sinner might be having problems with his hips. Some injury, to what extent I don’t know.

Sinner took the first set 7-6 (11-9).

They held serve all the way through the second set until Sinner was serving at 5-6 and Zverev broke and took the set, 7-5.

Sinner won 7-6 (11-9), 5-7, 7-6 (7-4). Close match.

Very good match, Sinner with just a couple of brilliant points in the tiebreak made the difference.

Tiafoe and DiCaprio starting their third set right now.

Incredible comeback from Taifoe, down 2-5 in the third, fought off 2 match points and took the tiebreak 7-5. Should be a great final vs Sinner tomorrow.

That’s awesome. Sounds like an exciting match and a great comeback. It will be exciting to see what he can do against Sinner.

Thanks for not calling me Shirley. Which part do you disagree with?

I got McEnroe @ number 5.

He brought the popularity of tennis to another level in the 80’s.

Certainly you could argue that Borg or Lendl were better.

But I’m putting McEnroe ahead of them.

That’s cool. He’s incredibly iconic. When I first started watching tennis as a little kid, because my family had it on the tv, McEnroe was the #1 tennis player in the world. People talked about how good Borg had been, but McEnroe had taken over.

How do you arrange the top 4?

Well, the top four I would have the same as you.

I’m just kind of giving you are hard time for not putting my favorite player on there.

After the top four there’s a lot of gray area.

You got Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Lendl, etc.

Maybe Agassi right after that group.

But there’s very little doubt in my mind that Alcaraz will be number 5 within a couple years.

I just like playing. I picked up tennis a couple years ago.

It’s a hard game to be good at.

It’s such a great game. I played some as a kid. I should pick up a racket.

Another two guys that spring to mind is Boris Becker and Ivan Lendl. They were everywhere in the 80’s. Still can’t believe Lendl never won Wimbledon.

And Wilander and Edberg.
