As for the UFC, you can be as good as GSP but nobody is better or more accomplished.
He beat every man he fought.
He was a champion who cleared his division.
He came back after something like 4 years and moved up in weight and got that belt as well. Making him a two division champ.
Never had an out of cage issue.
Never failed a test.
Thats as good as it gets at this time.

Fame has absolutely nothing to do with GOAT status. If it did then Conor is the MMA goat⌠and real fans non causals know that Conor isnât even a top 15 fighter of all time

Best way of putting it. The ufc will always use some sort of stat line to promote whatever champion they want, casuals eat it up and use it to call that fighter the GOAT.

Like you said anything like this is only relevant in the case of a tie in title defenses. He is 34 and canât make it to GOAT at this point but he can still go down as one of the greatest. Amazing run, for some reason people canât just be okay with two division champ with defenses in both weights, it has to be that they are the GOAT.
