On one hand, those years early in adulthood can be instrumental in building a strong foundation for the rest of your life.
On the other, if you let yourself peak during your time in the military, and try to let what you did in your late teens and early twenties define the next 60+ years of your life, you probably won’t amount to much.
I looked up a few images of him in uniform. I see a CIB and a Bronze Star (no valor device).
While the Bronze Star may have been for some Army public relations bullshit, the CIB and CAR (USMC/Navy) criteria are pretty tight. His book might be full of bullshit stories, but if his awards are legit, he did see combat.
just being able to legitimately put Green Beret on his resume should have been enough. Telling tall tales, especially in this day and age, will hurt you far more than being coy about the details of your service.
That is what surprises me - Kennedy is a pretty successful guy and has led a pretty good life - yet he just had to embellish for ‘reasons’.. I have a cousin like this - he’s a guy that is more successful than 80% of the population yet has to lie and embellish much about his life .. is it low self esteem ?
He said that if anyone doesn’t support the government, blindly, and not only do whatever they say with no orders, but do it with a smile, he would track them down and run them over with his truck. He knows more than you do about what’s going on, if you haven’t served you don’t know shit.
That is all paraphrased from memory It was years ago when I saw that video.
Driven by the top sicario of the world’s most dangerous cartel because he wouldn’t back down when they tried to stop him from taking them down to save America.
